In order to further the students' knowledge of the duties of citizenship, the idea of Government Day was
introduced into our school for the first time last year. The students sign petitions, campaign for their can-
didate, and elect their own officers in exactly the same fashion as the officers of the town, county, or state
are elected. Posters, pep fests, secret party meetings, slogans, and party buttons all add to the fun. of
after the primary and general elections, the town and county officials cooperate in teaching
the students the duties of their respective offices.
