Valedictorian Salutatorian Carolyn Bryant, daughter of Mr. and Hrs. Don Bryant, was born on Hay 20, 1937. She has attended the Hiller Public Schools for twelve years. She played the role of Juch in the play, A Date With Judy , during her Junior year. Sze has been a cheerleader and a member of the pep club, is now vice-president of F. ILA., has participated in the mixed cho- rus, and has been a member of the girls' glee club for four years. Her main interest is comnercial work. Kathleen Poirot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Poirot, was born on July 20, 1938. She is a produd. of tha Lawrence County grade schools, having graduated from the eighth grade at Coon Creek School. She has been a student at Hiller High School for four years. She has long bemactive in h-H work and was a h-H Dress Revue representative at the National chicago, nlo, last year. She is a member of the glee club, band, and F. H.A.. During her sophomore year she was class president and was an attendartto the carnival queen. During her junior year she was football queen, a member of the girls' trio and sertette, and was in the junior play. This year she is senior class trea- surer, has participated in de- bate, and was a contestant in the local American Legion Ora- torical Contest. -57-

The Future Boaenalcers of Smb-District Ho. S of Soutllrest lflssouri met in Hiller on Wednesday, loveier 10, for their annual convention. The nesting was openedby Shirleylhdownofthe Hiller chapter, who was president of Sub-District No. 5 for 1953-511. There were approximately 2450 chapter members, chapter mothers, and advisors present, representing the seven schools-Ht. Vernon, Honett, Pierce City, Part, Aurora , Cassville, and Hiller. A varied program was carried out, and the meeting was closed with the in- stallation service for the inconing officers . Pictured at right is the installation ceremony. The picture at right shows six girls who are enrolled in Hrs. Connel's Hama Ec. III Foods Class. The class is divided into four groups, and these girls represent each group. The girls are: Patty Ibugh, Carolyn Johnson, Marla Caddell, hm Estes, kms Pyle, and Shirley lbdown. An outstanding agriculture student, Stanley Deeman is shovm below with his calf which won the showmanship prize at the Carl Junction Farmers' Fair. He also won championshipswith a shorthorn at three other fairs. Stanley has numerous F.F.A. projects and has truly made Hiller High proud to claim hime os.. Q f . 5 t ,,.
