The invasion took place on April 15 and 16. The seniors woke up early and hopped on the bus at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning. After a 4 1 2 hour drive we arrived and ate at the Billy Goat Tavern. After a shopping spree we went to the Hilton Hotel. That evening we took in Bennigans, “Sheer Madness ,and the Sears Tower. After a brief recooperation, there was a new day. First we went to the Mar- riot for breakfast. After this we went to The Museum of Sci- ence and Industry and then an exciting game at Wrigley Field which was all that remained. We arrived home at around 10:00 p.m. on the 16th. Biggest thing I ever had! Should I ask her out? At least the Reds won! Now that girl... Look out Chicago!! Ruzo home at last! Wt J Don’t you know how to smile yet? I’m so alone! Think they will let us bring our coolers in? I want my mommy. Another round for the boys please. What are you ordering? Ready for night on the town Should we order the steak or fish? It was a time for remembering all the laughter, tears, smiles, success, shaving cream fights, and the many other events we have shared with each oth- er. There is one thing that I would like to see every senior remember and that is our class motto “THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DIS- COVERY TRUE FRIENDS CAN MAKE IS THAT THEY CAN GROW SEPERATELY WITHOUT GROWING APART.” Honor Students From Left to Right-Doug Barlage.Jill Schroeder.Amy Vennekotter,Jenny Schroeder.Jeff Eiden The Class of 1988 Senior Class President-Doug Salutatorian-Jill Schroeder Valedictorian-Amy Vennekotter Barlage Well, guys, are you nervous? This not only gets us out of our last 3 classes of the day, but also features such fun games as the bed races and the car pile up. The highlight of Field Day was when students’ names were drawn and the winners were able to throw a pie in a teacher’s face. The seniors came in first place, followed by the juniors, then sophomores, and finally the freshmen. Later that evening was the Freshman Mixer. It was held at the Sportsman’s Club, with Soundwaves play- ing such favorite hits by White Snake and The New Wipe Out by the Fat Boys and the Beach Boys. Niese, recognized the girls who were receiving their State degrees and the seniors girls who have been in FHA. This year’s President, Doug Ruhe, welcomed everyone to the 1988 FFA Banquet. He, along with many other people, received various awards and were recognized for their outstanding activities. Steve Peck, advisor, presented these various awards. Marcia Liebrecht was elected as FFA Queen, and attendents were Amy Ven- nekotter and Marcia Liebrecht. 83 This year the scholastic banquet was on May 18, 1988. They once again had the traditional Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner. After dinner, students were honored for their special achievments, for example, honor roll, student of the month, attendence, and class awards. It is a great honor to be a part of the scholastic banquet. Good Job, everyone!! 84 This year the Athletic Banquet was held on May 11, 1988. Once again the meal consisted of Salisbury steak. Any student who is involved in a sport, whether it was a player, stat, manager, cheerleader, or VTR person was recognized. They either received a certificate, a letter, a trophy, or a pin. We would like to thank all those students who have taken the time to participate in our sports program. It is much appreciated. 85 86 Stacy Alt Kathy Balbaugh Joan Bariage Renee Burgei Brian Dukes Brian Ellerbrock Bill Ellerbrock Dan Gable Amy Gerdeman Louis Hermiller Amy Kleman Brian Kuhlman Denise Kuhlman Anne Lammers Beth Lammenl Jenny Lammers I Diane Lehman Sue Lehman ▼Don Liebrecht Julie Nienbpg Kelly 1.
