We realize that without your continued interest, our education would not have been possible. The wholehearted support of our community on the school bond issue to build to our school was also a vote of confidence for us. We are particularly thankful to the voters who passed this issue, for our growing needs produces a need of expansion which is now being realized because of you, the Citizen. We thank you. Also the characters were quite interesting; Tom Dobmeyer por- trayed Herbert Southgate; Marvell Gerschutz, Lizzie Southgate; Martin Brown, Andy Southgate; Ruth Lammers, Karen Southgate; Francis Verhoff, Professor Jones; Iantha Hanselmen, Mildred; Kenneth Palte, Mr.C.C.; Alvin Steffen, Squeezum 1; Larry Burkhart, Rose; Nancy Wank, Kula; Alice Morman, Mrs. Squeezum; James Kuhlman, Robert Morris; Richard Okuley, Squeezum 3; Jo Ann Recker, Squeezum 6; and Jeanette Steffen, Squeezum 7. The hilarious episode begins when Prof. Southgate, a biological research scientist, feels his family is being spoiled by too much civil- ization. He takes them to a desolate outpost while he pursues his scientific work and tries to adjust them to primitive living. Mrs. Southgate longs for her bed of zinnias back home, Karen, their teen-age daughter, feigns snow madness, and Andy, her 19 year-old brother makes popsicles by the score. Their visiting Aunt Mildred watches them all suffer in their new environment. To top everything Prof. Jones, a colleague, invites a family of Eskimos to share their igloo. Amid the chaos, the two scientists discover Mr. Cubic Centimeters (C.C.), a beautiful hunk of man preserved in ice for over 7,000 years. Karen falls in love with him after helping revive him from his long slumber, Andy proposes to Kula, a cute little, nose-rubbing Eskimo girl. With this shocking turn of events. Prof. Southgate finally thinks they've had enough. Not until Mr. C. C. runs away leaving Karen broken-hearted and Kula is angry with Andy, do they all promise to go quietly home. Now, however, Prof. Southgate changes his mind and decides to stay.—Another five years might do them all good. Before he knows it, he's lashed to a dog sled as everyone is hollering mush. Junior Play Fun On The Run” was a lively, very natural comedy enjoyed by everyone. Mr. O'Hara, a successful attorney, currently running for election for District Attorney, is always hoping to find peace and quiet when he reaches home; but his active teenage offspring seem to generate noise and confusion at the wrong times. Susie is home from college for a few days accompanied by her latest beau, Chaucer. Veronica is com- pletely absorbed with her hair and the coming dance and Danny lives for only two things; baseball and food. Chaucer, a psychology student incognito-with an assignment to survey an average American family, creates many hilarious situations. Amanda adds to the merriment with her musical aspiration. Also Dean Miller, Susie’s hometown sweet- heart, lives next door with his grandmother. Grandma Miller is hard of hearing and her impaired hearing, coupled with her addiction to gossip almost wrecks Mr. O'Hara’s political plans, but in the end every- thing works out well for all concerned. The characters were as follows: Henry O'Hara, John Repko; Martha O'Hara, Doris Ruhe; Susie, Nancy Meyer; Veronica, Jeanette Merritt; Danny, Jim Stritt; Jeanette, Doris Niese; Dean Miller, John Schieber; Minnie Miller, Helen Lammers; Amanda Larsen, Kathleen Brown; Chaucer J. H. Van Frog, Ken Lammers; Ellen, Shirley Kuhlman; Bigwig Fennington, Ken Kaufman; Cab driver, Gerald Schnipke; and Josh, Dave Nuveman.
