 The Miller City High School Basketball team had a fairly successful season. While winning 11 games and losing 10, the team secured fourth place in the county league as well as in the tournament. Confronted by the lack of height Coach Noris Simpson had one of the best small ball clubs in the area. Drawing a first round bye in the county tournament the Wildcats beat Ottawa S.P.P.S., only to bow to Ottoville in the semi-finals and Kalida in the finals. The success of the team can be seen by the fact that'-they scored 1216 points to the opponents 1100 points, an average of 57 9 10 per game to the opponents 52 2 5 points per game. Next year coach Simpson will have to start almost from scratch since he loses four Seniors this year namely Elmer Meyer, Richard Wenzinger, Herman Schmenk, Herbert Scheckelhoff. He also loses two faithful managers Verl Warnimont and Carl Sch'roeder. However we wish the coach and the team best of luck for the 1954-1955 season.
