The yearbook staff has tried to capture mo- ments that we will all be able to look back on ... a “connection” to the past. Your family, friends, teachers, and surroundings are the ba- sis of the colors of the “rainbow.” We have given you the “Rainbow Connection” — you have yet to find your “pot of gold.” (Above) Top L-R: K. The preceding week was spent building up to the highlights, the game and the dance. The students participated in many things: contests, the community pep rally, the parade, and the bonfire. The class of 1961 was invited back for the festivities, and were honored at the dance. Homecoming 1980 was significant to all those involved. The week’s activities arouse spirit and enthusiasm for the football game. By Friday, almost everyone was looking forward to a battle with the Franklin Center Eagles. The night proved victorious for the Missiles as the Varsity plowed over the Eagles by a score of 39-0. 7 Direct.. rs Orchest ra Spot Light Make Op Mr Hal Weaver Mr David Hefty Mr Dave Bean Boh Coleman Stan Dennis Barb Hefty Mr. Hal Weaver Alan Bracken Shirley Robertson Beth Detlman Mr. David Hefty Sar ration Li I Abner Lil Abner Bill Dettman Dmay M u Mnry 1 eddy V Habbit VieliKHi Howjrtt ( roniee A. The fifteen seniors and fourteen juniors who made up the team all sought the same goal — the conference championship. Each weekend brought a new challenge for these players. Then, when the conference games had been completed, they had the state play-offs to look forward to. Unfortunately, their dreams were shattered with a loss to Annawan. The Missiles reaches many goals this season while falling short of others. Still, we consid- er the 1980 football team a huge success. Row 1 L-R: R. Queckborner. B. Jensen, T. Hacker, T. Franks, K. Eddie was from Los Mo- chis, Mexico. Compared to his city of 150,000, Milledgeville is very small. He enjoyed eating pizza, lasagna, and all types of deserts. He was a member of the basketball and track teams. Eddie had many new experiences while in the United States, like, living on a farm, seeing snow for the first time, and learning to ski. Foreign Exchange Student We enjoyed having Eddie here and we hope that his memories of MHS are happy ones. So we’ve been told, and some choose to believe it; I know they’re wrong; wait and see. Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection: The lovers, the dreamers, and me. Who said that ev’ry wish would be heard and answered when wished on the morning star? Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it; Look what it’s done so far. What’s so amazing that keeps us star-gazing And what do we think we might see? Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection; The lovers, the dreamers, and me. All of us under it’s spell; We know that it’s probably magic. Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I’ve heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors? The voice might be one and the same. I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it It’s something that I’m s’posed to be. Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection; The lovers, the dreamers, and me.
