MANY THANKS The Class of 1988 would like to express it’s most sincere gratitude to the following individuals and groups of people who have made our years here at Millbury High the success that they have been. First and foremost we thank all the citizens of the town of Millbury for there generous financial and moral support. We thank the various members of the school committee for there encouragement and judgement in our behalf. We thank Dr. Alfred J. Sylvia our school superintendent for his leadership and direction. . Special thanks to our Principal Mr. Carmody and our Assistant Principal Mr. Capperelli as well as to all the other school administrators in the Millbury school system for there involvement in our progress. We especially thank all the many teachers who have molded us into the promising young adults we feel we have become. We realize that without there collective effort in our behalf our education and subsequent gradua- tion would not have been possible. Finally an extra special thank you to Mr Dennis Leonard and Mr. Neil Lucey our class advisors who personally guided our final high school years with tender loving care. Also we thank Mr. Eugene Genese our year book advisor who helped us prepare this final memory we will cherish always. 29 SUPERLATIVES Hi | Le j wait ferlat Most All Around Jon Flamand Marie LaBreck Most Masculine Feminine Matt Corridori Michelle Nadeau Most Athletic Tom Grabauskas Jodi Bush Most Talkative Todd Watkins Nicole Glinski SUPERLATIVES Class Brain Most Likely To Succeed Zbigniew Przyborowski Class of 88’ Bonnie Crabbe Class Clown Most Unforgettable Steve Frederico John Walkonen Amy Broulliard Carrie Gurney “ 32 SUPERLATIVES Most Talented Ken Kimball Tina Campanale is ‘(aumes 618 DENTINE BA Bow 4 rete Class Couple Gregg Jacobson Cindy Berthiaume Most Flirtatious Mike Fresolo Linnea Bengston Best Dressed Jason Gemme Heather Bourassa = ce - awe ey ah de, 2“) a id . The team’s 12 seniors helped show some promising spots to the underclassmen. The seniors included Tim Cluett, Jeff Roberts, Matt Corridori, Jon Flamand, Shawn Han- ratty, Paul Prus, John Gordon, Roger Gor- don, Gregg Jacobson, Keith Pierce, Steven Frederico, and Bill Martin. Their regular season includ- ed an undefeated record of 17-0, an SWCL title, and a 1 ranking in the Districts. This Woolie team advanced to the District Finals for the sec- ond straight year, but lost to Algonquin and Nashoba. This team allowed only 3 goals throughout the regular season and posted 14 shutouts including a string of 9 shutouts on a row at the beginning of the season—which is a school record. The team was noted for its intimidating defense led by Tom Grabauskas, Scot Turner (Co-Captains), and Pete Balkus. The offense also proved it was of the cali- ber that could play against any team in the area. This team scored twice the goals scored in the 1986 season. Matt Bleau and Ziggy P. were the leaders on the offensive end of the field. Matt scored both of the goals scored in the semi-final game against Bay Path. The rugged schedule took its toll on the team physically, and with a few beaks our way, the team could have made the District Tournament, and would have made a good showing in Division II. Eight teams out of the 14 on the Millbury schedule made the tournament. The team was led in scoring by Kathy Ayotte with 16 goals. Millbury will miss the services of Jodi Bush, Millbury’s goal keeper for four years. She, unfortunate- ly, injured a finger and was forced out of the goal for almost half the season. Marie Labreck, a real tough competitor for 3 years, will also be hard to replace. Michelle Nadeau injured her back and sat out much of the seaon, but was also a force when able to play. Look for Millbury to be a legitimate contender for Division II finals next year. There was a buffet dinner followed by dancing to a wide range of music chosen by the disc jockey, “Dancin Dan” The night was filled with happiness and enjoyment making it a memorable evening. 88 Our Senior Supper was held at the V.F.W. Post on May 5, 1988. While awaiting a buffet dinner by Happy’s Restaurant, George Desrosiers enter- tained the class with a slide show of past years. Jason Gemme and Tina Campanale presented each class member with their own personal gift reflecting his or her personality. When the disc jockey final- ly got the music straight we all enjoyed dancing the night away. 89 90 On Thursday May 26th, the Class of 88 enjoyed an exciting and memorable day at the Frank-Da- vis Resort in Connecticut. The day was full of many activi- ties and competitions. Although Millbury was defeated in many of the events, such as the canoe race and water balloon toss, the Mill- bury girls took first place in the tug-of-war by out pulling four of the surrounding towns. Luckily, the weather held out and it turned into a beautiful day. Lunch and dinner were served with plenty for everyone. Even the boys seemed full. The time we spent together will never be forgotten. ; 91 CLASS DAY Our Class Day was held on June 3, 1988. The first item discussed was the class history. We looked back on past fundraisers, class officers, the very competitive winter carnivals and many other memorable occasions we've had. The Last Will and Testament and our Class Prophe- cy were also read which brought laughter throughout the auditorium. Before our Class Day was over, we presented our two class advisors, Mr. Dennis Leonard and Mr. Neil Lucey, each with a watch in appreciation for all their hard work and dedication they have shown towards our class. 93 94 GRADUATION DAY JUNE 5, 1988 On June 5, 1988 the moment we’d all been waiting for had arrived, our Graduation. It was a beautiful day as family and friends watched each graduate recieve their diploma with pride and most of all a sense of accomplishment. Speeches that were made during the ceremony were given by our class president Jason Gemme, Bonnie Crabbe our class valedictorian, honors speaker Denise Young, and the president of the Student Council, Scott Pease. Our guest speaker was Mr. Wayne Sclar who gave a very inspiring speech. As each and every one of us listened to the speeches being made, we had realized that it would be the last time we, the Class of 1988, would ever be together. But we know that the memories we have created together in the past four years will never be forgotten. And now as we move on to broaden our horizons, reach our goals and fulfill our dreams, we will always remember the good times we shared as a class and how close we have become throughout our high school years. 95 LETTING GO You’ve watched us change. You’ve watched us grow. I can’t believe We’re letting go Leaving all the people And places that we’ve known. It’s hard to find a meaning In growing up and leaving home You gave us hopes, Watch us turn them into realities. You showed us life And what it means And created a world of memories. I can’t believe it’s so We’re spreading our wings And letting go. We’re not afraid Not afraid of what’s ahead. We'll think of all The things you’ve said. Facing every challenge And meeting life head on. We'll rise to each occasion And live each day Before it’s gone. 96 97 98 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the class of Nineteen hundred and eighty eight, being of sound mind, do hereby make, publish, and de- clare this to be our Last Will and Testament. Without their dedication, hard work and _ involve- ment, we would never have been so successful as a class. They have united our class to the point where new friendships grew and old friendships grew stronger. From the Class of 1988 we would like to take the time to ex- press our deepest appreci- ation and gratitude for ev- erything that you have done for us. Thank you! The class of 88 along with the entire faculty and staff of Millbury high would like to wish Mr. Harry Howard a very happy retirement. Mr. Howard be- gan his teaching career in 1952.
