This year- book is comparable to a mirror, for it is the reflection of 180 days at Millboro , during the 61-62 term. The meaning of this book varies with the individ- ual, just as each of us holds different memories. We can be proud of the hard work, but we can also re- minisce about the pleasant times- winning ball games, attending proms and dances, our parts in clubs and activities. We can never relive these experiences, but we can always retain the memories of them in this- our year- book. FRONT ROW: Tom Coffey, Sue Cauley, Co- Businesslvianagers. BETTIE LOUISE SMITH LEONARD ADOLAPHUS WARE .,4 'fI- 'VN I2 59'- BURTON ASHBY TAYLOR VERNON EUGENE WHITSON CLASS HISTORY In September of 1950, 34 students started their schooling, with Mr. George ,ffiagby as their principal and Miss Ada Haynes as their teacher. Due to a pair of fptiepartures, only 32 of us, who were in that entering group advanced to the second grade, where we were taught by Mrs. Ethel Moore, who was assisted by Mrs. Aubrey Zimmerman. In the third grade we were instructed by Mrs. McLaughlin. After completion of our third year our group went to the fourth grade where we were taught by Mrs. Blanchard. r In 1954, 30 of us were promoted to the fifth grade, and we happily migrated to the old building . Mrs. Schoonover was our teacher. Our sixth grade was somehow larger than the others and we were divided into two groups. Mrs. McCray taught one group, and Mrs. Tyree taught the other. We were reunited in the seventh grade and after our struggles through elemen- tary school we now numbered 28. We were again taught by Mrs. Tyree. At last we had reached one ofour long sought after goals. As our first home- room teacher we had Mr. Robert Sauter. Other members of the high school faculty who taught us were: Mr. and Mrs. Skinner, Mrs. Mullis, Mr. Joyce, and Miss Fairchild. In 1958, we finally became Freshmen. Our homeroom teacher was Mrs. Skinner, who was aided in teaching us by Mr. Thomas Capley, Mr. Gordon Ellis, Mr. Skinner, Mrs. Mullis, and Mr. Catron. At this time in Goshen High, seven Freshmen were small in number, but big in determination. Mrs. Hager was their homeroom teacher. Other members of the Goshen faculty were: Mrs. Gwinn, Mrs. Withrow, Mr. Wilhelm, and the prin- cipal, Mr. Cobb. Sophomore year arrived, and our homeroom teacher was Mrs. Cauley. In Goshen our soon-to-be fellow-Juniors were under the same faculty, but had added Mrs. Nickols as one of their instructors. The Mullis family moved and Mrs. Catron became Millboro's new Home Economics teacher. In 1960 we became Juniors under the able sponsorship of Mrs. Betty Moore, who taught us along with Mr. and Mrs. Skinner, Mr. Hileman, Mrs. Cauley, and Mr. and Mrs. Catron, The five I uniors who joined us from Goshen were soon com- pletely members of the school. The high light of the year, other than the ar- rival of these fine reinforcements, was, for all of us, selecting our class rings. Our class officers were: PRESIDENT, David Peters, VICE- PRESIDENT, Kathy Black- well, SECRETARY, Lucy Peters, and TREASURER, Gerald Kenney. We are proud beyond measure to say that in 1961, 26 members entered the Senior Class with Mrs. Mary Cauley as Sponsor. Later in the year we were join- ed by new members: Larry McDaniel, and Fred Brown. Our class now consists of 28 members. Our teachers are: Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Linkenhoker, Mr. Eyster, Mrs. Skinner, Mr. Catron, Mrs. Catron, and our Guidance Counselor, Mr. Hileman. Our class officers are: PRESIDENT, Leonard Ware, VICE-PRESIDENT, Shirley Madison, SECRETARY, Kathy Blackwell, and TREASURER, David O'Kane. ' A At this time we are looking forward with mixed emotions to-'receiving our diplomas in I une. We hwill, of course, be glad to graduate, but we will always reiriemlier with appreciation our teachers and friends at Goshen and Millboro High Schools. Qyve wish, at this time, to thank youall forpmaking our school years so wonderful. .
