DEDICATION As we look back through the years, it is our parents who always form the background, the foundation for our growth. They are the ones who guided our first steps, who started us out on the first day of school, who bandaged our cuts and bruises and listened with patience to our tales of woe. Our parents are the ones who have made innumerable sacrifices for us; they are the ones who helped us over obstacles, and it is they who comforted us when our little worlds turned upside down. Therefore, in recognition and appreciation of their untiring, unending devotion, service and love, we dedicate this our 1961 ’’Spur” to our best friends . . . OUR PARENTS.

FOREWORD What have you here? It is The Spur , our way to school and to bring to you the memories of the year 1960-61. We hope that this book will enable you to relive the year through the pages that follow. We hope that it will constantly keep you in touch with those you grew to love, with the activities which helped you to grow, with the teachers and classes which helped you to learn, and with the entire school where you learned to blend all phases of life into one whole. Since Millboro was organized as a standard high school in 1916, when the old building was erected and equipped, progress has been steady. The new building and heating plant was con- structed in 1933. Four new departments have been added since the organization: Vocational Agriculture, Home Economics, Business Edu- cation, and Music. In the fall of this year our enrollment was increased by the addition of the Juniors and Seniors from Goshen High School in Rockbridge County. Plans are now being com- pleted for an addition to the present builjiing. CONTENTS Administration Faculty Classes Activities Elementary Advertisements
