ttQ5ingfa: Geneva-on-the-Lake Geneva, Ohio June 20, 1955 Dear Miss Mc-Culloeh: , I really don 't know where to begin, because there is so much to tell. Some day l'd like to write a book about our class and all the things that have happened to us during the last 10 years. We are holding a reunion this week at Geneva-on-the-Lake, and it surely is fun to get together again. We're staying at Mary Anne Hillier's beautiful. 15-room plastic bungalow, which is the most modernistie I have ever seen. Here I sit at the Nineteenth Hole, writing this and waiting patiently for Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kettering fthe former Barbara. Humphreyj who have not arrived yet. Aft-er 10 years of wedded bliss, Barbara and Jerry have settled down in a little eoal mining district in eastern Pennsylvania. By the way, did you know that Roy Lehman and I have been secretly married for the past month? We have just bought a 55 acre farm from our old classmate James Miller Il, who sells for the Miller Realty Co., and are planning to raise owls. Remember the girl who used to sit in the second seat, second row, in your Spanish class-Louise Martin? I have just spoken to her and find that she is still teaching eom- mercial art at the University of Wisconsin. Across the street at the Miniature Golf Course I see Jean Olaud, who is now managing the new theater in that rising industrial center-CORK. She and Grace Chaney, who runs Chaney 's Classy Boarding House on Depot Street, are fighting over who won the golf game. Eleanor Merrell, nee Uhase, is coming with her triplets, Bruce, Loose, and Noose, who are ably cared for by their governess, Dorothy Booth. Her husband, Bob, has just finished building a plastic bridge over Grand River at Harpersfield. 3 Well, I guess I'll go back to the cottage now and see if everyone has arrived yet. I'll finish this letter after dinner. 10:00 P. M. On my right at dinner was Martin Dodd, head usher at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. On my left was Doris Taylor, noted pianist who has been teaching Jose Iturbi the latest techniques in classics. Seated at the head of the table was Ray Chap- man, who surprised everybody by inventing a sky-blue-pink tulip. R. G. Manthey, the eminent obstetrieian, just arrived late after delivering his first set of twins. Betty Hulbert, Geneva's first woman preacher, will have to leave before the week is up, as she has to give a sermon on the Evils of Jitterbugging on Sunday at the Methodist Church in Geneva. Bob Smith, whom we always expected to be an athlete, surprised everyone when he told us about his job modeling for Adam 's Hats. What a change! Just as we started to eat, we heard a scream from the kitchen, where the well- known electrician, Don Fouse, was trying to fix an electric perculator, and got. a mild shock. To his aid rushed Virginia Lee, former Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. Geraldine Hezebick's Cremember how smart she was?J came all the way from Vienna just for the reunion. She is head of the Hezebieks Elite School for Piano there. Sit- ting beside her at the table was Iris Kelley, who placed third in the mile run the other day at the Women's Interstate Track Meet. 50
