Mr. Peck remained as coach for the first game and after that Coach Uluggish managed the team. At the Perry game, Miller's -two runs through center for 58 yards and 39 yards were very spectacular. Chapman averaged 5V2 yards per crack which also netted us two touchdowns by him in the Madison game. In the same game, Sanzotta being rushed territically, failed to find a receiver and so began running. Doing so he pitched to Smith, who reached high, pulled the ball down, and scarnpered the remaining yards for a touchdown. At Fairport. our able cen- ter. At the end of the year letters were awarded to the outstanding athletes among the girls and the name ofthe super outstand- ing' athlete was plaeed on the G. A. C. plaque in the gym. Basketball and neweombe were the main games played in girls intramurals this year. After tossing the ball baek and forth across the net for weeks and weeks Joan Critten- den's team in the senior high and Pat Mel- lon's in the junior high finally came out the winners. Troupe 368 36 of the National Dramatic Society this year was under the sponsorship of Mrs. Spafford and president Jim Miller. The main project of the troupe was the presentation of the an- nual Thespian play, which this year was Mrs, Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch. With Virginia Davies in the title role and a large cast composed of old Thespians and a few new comers, the play was a great success. Amid cabbages and grease paint the drama- tic society stalked away with all honors. Throughout the year the Thespians were ae- tive in staging and helping with other school productions. Ask any of the football or basketball players what they'd do without the Athletic Association. That would be hard to say since they have charge of the athletic equip- ment, the gate, receipts, etc. The Athletic Association is one of the hardest working organizations in school and our hats are off to them as they are to all the organizations who have contributed so much to life at Ge- neva llighll Junior High G. Wm MARY BOB BARBARA RA 49 Y ttQ5ingfa: Geneva-on-the-Lake Geneva, Ohio June 20, 1955 Dear Miss Mc-Culloeh: , I really don 't know where to begin, because there is so much to tell. Some day l'd like to write a book about our class and all the things that have happened to us during the last 10 years. We are holding a reunion this week at Geneva-on-the-Lake, and it surely is fun to get together again. We're staying at Mary Anne Hillier's beautiful. 15-room plastic bungalow, which is the most modernistie I have ever seen. Here I sit at the Nineteenth Hole, writing this and waiting patiently for Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kettering fthe former Barbara. Humphreyj who have not arrived yet. Aft-er 10 years of wedded bliss, Barbara and Jerry have settled down in a little eoal mining district in eastern Pennsylvania. By the way, did you know that Roy Lehman and I have been secretly married for the past month? We have just bought a 55 acre farm from our old classmate James Miller Il, who sells for the Miller Realty Co., and are planning to raise owls. Remember the girl who used to sit in the second seat, second row, in your Spanish class-Louise Martin? I have just spoken to her and find that she is still teaching eom- mercial art at the University of Wisconsin. Across the street at the Miniature Golf Course I see Jean Olaud, who is now managing the new theater in that rising industrial center-CORK. She and Grace Chaney, who runs Chaney 's Classy Boarding House on Depot Street, are fighting over who won the golf game. Eleanor Merrell, nee Uhase, is coming with her triplets, Bruce, Loose, and Noose, who are ably cared for by their governess, Dorothy Booth. Her husband, Bob, has just finished building a plastic bridge over Grand River at Harpersfield. 3 Well, I guess I'll go back to the cottage now and see if everyone has arrived yet. I'll finish this letter after dinner. 10:00 P. M. On my right at dinner was Martin Dodd, head usher at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. On my left was Doris Taylor, noted pianist who has been teaching Jose Iturbi the latest techniques in classics. Seated at the head of the table was Ray Chap- man, who surprised everybody by inventing a sky-blue-pink tulip. R. G. Manthey, the eminent obstetrieian, just arrived late after delivering his first set of twins. Betty Hulbert, Geneva's first woman preacher, will have to leave before the week is up, as she has to give a sermon on the Evils of Jitterbugging on Sunday at the Methodist Church in Geneva. Bob Smith, whom we always expected to be an athlete, surprised everyone when he told us about his job modeling for Adam 's Hats. What a change! Just as we started to eat, we heard a scream from the kitchen, where the well- known electrician, Don Fouse, was trying to fix an electric perculator, and got. a mild shock. To his aid rushed Virginia Lee, former Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. Geraldine Hezebick's Cremember how smart she was?J came all the way from Vienna just for the reunion. She is head of the Hezebieks Elite School for Piano there. Sit- ting beside her at the table was Iris Kelley, who placed third in the mile run the other day at the Women's Interstate Track Meet. 50 Princess Woodworth. superintendent of the Springfield Mass., General Hospital. was flown to the reunion by Bob Drought, one of the war's ace pilots, who is now fly- ing for International Airlines Incorporated. Further down the table was Camilla Nilsen, world famous authoress of the best seller A Branch Thrives in the Bronx . Beside Camilla, was Bonnie Markham who brought several members of her advanc-ed class in ju-jitsu from her Markham's Mer- ry Muscle Builders Revue to perform for the after-dinner entertainment. Betty Case Cook was unable to attend the dinner because her husband, Admiral Robert Cook, had just arrived to spend a quiet two weeks in their home near Yellow- stone National Park. Janet Shupp, vocalist with Guy Swartz and his Sweet Swooners entertained af- ter dinner with that old favorite, One Meat Ball. I Mary Branek spent the whole afternoon trying to sell solid gold pencil Sharpeners to her old classmates. Another member of the class who was unable to attend the reunion was Richard Marsh, the eminent District Attorney of New York State. He had some unexpected im- portant business to attend to. Shirley Brandt gave an interesting afternoon talk concerning the social condi- tions in and around Saybrook, Ohio. She was followed by Beatrice Wood who spoke about her world-wide travels by Helicopter. Two other classmates, James Fuller and his wife, the former Irma Winnen, were also present. They are the managers of a thriving trailor camp situated at Harpers Corners, Ohio. - D Later, we -strolled down to the center of Geneva-on-the-Lake. Louie Fidel point- ed out his grocery store, Fidel 's Finer Foods. His store is being managed by Armenia Pas- qualone, who became a licensed meat cutter last week. CBy the way, doesn't it seem nice to have meat againlb As we reached the Pier Dance Hall, a converted jeep drove up with Doris Spade and her business school associates-Marjorie Brewster, shorthand teacherg Arlene Bliss, typing teacher and Nadine Starkey, bookkeeping teacher. Doris is principal of the Van Dyke Business School in Cleveland, Ohio. And to my surprise, who should arrive but Mary Martha Moulton, who informed us that she is now modeling for Doan's Devestating Dentrifice tooth paste ads. Oh, I almost forgot, did you know that Dick Strong Cknown as BeBe to all of usb is now a prosperous manufacturer of BeBc Gunsn? Who should float in late but Ken Kimmy! After talking with him, I found out he has been touring Northeast- ern Ohio giving lcctures on Why Not to Peroxide Your Hair . He must have learned his lesson. By the way, another of our classmates, Tony Sanzotta, whom we're expecting any time now, has been living on a small farm in Ea-st Geneva, where he trains dogs for pro- fessional use. We certainly hope he is able to come. I had lunch the other day with Ruth Arkenburg, who is another one who hasn't wandered far from Geneva. She is the sec 'y of Bob Beswicktowner of the Du-Allb. Ruth said she was coming to the reunion and was the first one to arrive. A telegram just came from Pauline Heaton and Gerald Crislip, co-owners of the Plastic Doorknob Company in Ashtabula, saying that they would get here Thursday. Well, this certainly has been one swell day and we know that this occasion will not be forgotten by any of us. Sitting around talking about the good times we had and the many things we went through together, it seems that the memories of our high school days will never leave us.
