Band Outstanding among the activities of Millard is the School Band. Though not large, they make up for this in peppiness. At all our big basketball games, selections were given by the band which kept the pep for the dead students up even though they were losing the game. There are several beginners in the band this year, and fllr, Stott has carefully led them through the mire. The band this year is, according to the talk of the townsmen , one of the best since Nlr. Stott cease,l instructing in the Music Depart- ment several years ago. We wish to extend our thanks to Mr. Stott for giving us such an accomplished band. Ol -

Opera Was the Opera a success? Oh, boy, and how! Mr. jacobs with his usual integrity put on an opera this year which beat all previous records by a long shot. We are proud to say that only school talent was used to make this fine production the huge success it was. The incomparable cast did wonderful work, but much credit is due to the exceptional chorus work also. The main j. .Iennison jones . Norman jacobs jonas Pennington . . Earl Miller Captain Kinski . . Orchestra Through the untiring efforts of Mr. jacobs, an orchestra was made this year which outstripped any other in the past years. The orchestra is steadily growing, thus proving that big oak trees come from little acorns after all. They have given us a few numbers in assembly, and played for us in this year's Operetta, thus proving their superior merit. bln jacobs cannot be coniplhnented highly enough for the part he has played in this year's school life. The production of our fine orchestra is just one of the musical activities in which Mr. Jacobs is engaged. .52-
