Chemistry With students eager to begin the study of the science and phenomena of the elements and compounds, the problems were attacked with all the zeal and curiosity that Edison or Steinmetz themselves might have shown. Wrapped in the seclu- sion of the laboratory many elements were studied one by one, and while doing so, little or no attention was paid to the events of the outside world except to occasionally let escape the peculiar gases and odors that were vigorous reminders of the fact that we were up and at 'em. Lab days proved to be very interesting as well as dangerous, for we never knew when or from where the next explosion was coming. And no one in par- ticular is to blame for the fact that we are not now sailing forth into space in the form of atoms. Truly, much has been demonstrated and learned between the crashes of tinkling glass and the friendly gas attacks of fellow students. Yea, many flames were lighted each day, only to flicker and die at 3:00 P. M. Many the principles that have been totally digested and the strength thereof, made ours, truly the course hath in it much merit. -52-

Football Football was not as good this year as it could have been, but the fellows did very well and we're mighty proud of them. Under the direction of Coach Chamberlain and the encouragement of our peppy Leland Heidenreich, the team tried to do their very best, and we'll say most of them did very well. We hope the team next year can do as well as this year's team did and they will be sitting pretty. The following are the scores ofthe season: Nl. H. 12 vs. Beaver 0 at Fillmore M. ll. 0 vs. Milford O at Milford M. ll. S. 0 vs. Delta 46 at Fillmore M. H. 0 vs. Hinkley 34 at Hinkley -54-
