Will (T reefc f• rI) ooI CJ,e u vi'00 ft 1957 MOTTO: Knowledge comes but wisdom lingers FLOWERS: Red Roses and White Mums COLORS: Red and White This book we gratefully dedicate to you, our Janitor. Rain or sleet, darkness or sunlight, for twenty-two years you've been here when we've come and stayed while we skipped away. Then you've swept out the mistakes of yesterday and burned the useless things, built a warm fire and winked at us when we've come to try all over again. f A C V I T V JOHN R. While on earth as Janet Seitz I had an accident. As a result, I am now spending my time up here keeping records for St. Peter. He's quite a guy, reminds me of a teacher I had in Kill Creek High School, Mr. Riley by name. St. Peter and I have Just been discussing ray friends from the Class of 1957,as I recently returned from a jaunt to earth where I looked in on them. They all turned out remarkably well, and several of the boys have since made big names for themselves in the field of sports. Bill Robinson has become a college basketball coach, and Bob Lantero took up wrestling as a profession. He owns a big farm where he recuperates from one match while waiting for his next. Chuck Hanna has now retired from Major League baseball, and he's been chosen to umpire this year's World Series. Bill Ketch is now the Governor of Indiana. He ' s doing a fine job, and some day I'm sure he'll become the President of the United States. Bill's not the only one of the class on the political scene, however, as Jeanie Edwards is now secretary to the Secretary of State. Sharlene Ford, who was always good at figures, is a bookkeeper for the Bureau of Internal Revenue. Making headlines recently is an ace Jet pilot known as Gale Saxton, and he’s making preparations for testing one of his own models soon. I see him every now and then, as sometimes he comes pretty close to us up here. Also up in the wild blue yonder is Bonnie Bennett. She is a stewardess for Trans World Airlines, and she makes her home in the State of Arizona between flights. At Fish Lake I found a new and modern hospital had been built through the un- tiring efforts of one Fay Tener, now head nurse of the institution. They seem to have quite a few hot rod victims to care for; we get some of them, too. After doing office work for several years, Carol Weber has settled down and has accomplished her life's ambition to raise a nice little family. Beverly Barthel also has a small family, but she still finds time to continue giving sewing instructions on a local television station once a week. Television has made Lois Bierly famous as a pantoraimist. She pantomimes the latest records for a color television show. It has also played an important part in the singing career of Kaye P. Wilson, better known to us as Kay Wil- son. She's a great singing sensation and is noted for her renditions of the old favorites we used to sing in high school. Annetta Weeden owns a very exclusive restaurant in Chicago and is famous for the many special dishes she has created. Two of her most distinguished cus- tomers are Betty Churchill who edits a worldwide fashion magazine and Sandra Hanna who is an artist for the same magazine. One of the most well-known mechanical engineers today is Clarence Green, who is happy in his work as consultant engineer for a large corporation where he helps instruct trainees in that field. Also in mechanics is Don Bennett who is chief mechanic at the Indianapolis Speedway. Each year he has a racer of his own entered. Dave Tarnow grew another four inches and is now a big brass in the Marine Corps. Also a man of authority is Bill Heirbrandt,-who is an officer of the Indiana State Police and is still living in the Mill Creek area. Others still in the vicinity are as follows: Ellen Wilson, who is no longer a student, but is a high school mathematics teacher at our alma mater; Del- bert Suit, who has maintained his interest in outdoor life and has become the game warden; Dick Sharp, who quit trapping and now owns his own mink farm; and Janet Kessler, who is editor of the advice to the lovelorn column in Mill Creek's own newspaper. Seeing how the rest of the class made out in life makes me wonder if I could have done as well. €lm$ tlli It We, THE CLASS OP 1957 being of sound mind and body, do hereby give and bequeath the following: I, BEVERLY BARTHEL, will my ability to go steady to Cheryl Johnson, and to Barbara Noel I give ray school wardrobe (slightly used).
