It has been .lust twenty years since that day when all my pals and myself took one long hike up the gym floor to the stage to receive a piece of n8per that was called a dip- loma. We worked twelve long years for that diploma, and now look at us. Two weeks ago I climbed aboard my super-sonic chrome-dome rocket to buzz around the universe to look upon my pals to see how they were doing. My first stop was Mars. I drove around awhile and while glancing down I saw my friend Wayne Brownlee plowinr the fields on his farm with his new twenty-seven bottom plow, which was jet drawn, of course. His three sons, two daughters, and his wife were busily feeding the animals (giraffs, zebra’s, and chimpanzee’s). Thev looked so peaceful that I decided not to bother thorn, so I Jetted up1' to buzz up to Saturn. There on Saturn, whom should I see but Cleda Brown washing the family clothes in her Jot propelled clothes sorter, washer, drver, and ironer. She looked very haopy with her little children playing about her. There were six of them and they were all wearing Daw Sorockett outfIts. Not wanting to bother her I decided to buzz over to Neptune to visit Howard Ness. He was very busy tvping reports on his speedy mind-reading typewriter. He would think uo something and the type- writer would type it. Be careful, Howie, the Army wants nothing that has to be censored. Not such a bad life for him I guess. Now I Jaunted over to Pluto and to my amazement, I spotted my beloved buddy, Karol Rensber- ger. She was very busy at her work, making a new movie. She was to be the star and to sing five of the loading hits. Not only is she an actress, but a homelover also. I hear she now has two children. A boy and a girl. Who could the lucky father be? I'll have to Invest- igate . With her being too busy to bother, I stacked steam and headed for Jupitor where I found my pal Paul Snyder. He said he was now busy working with his bssketball team for the chamDion3hip tourney of the Universe. Good luck, Pauli He said that about 2,5?9i miles East of him lived our friend Lloyd Bunton. He said that Lloyd was now married and had three children, I will have to take a few minutes and go to visit Lloyd, but right now I must head back to Saturn and visit its moons. On one of the moons I found Bev. Nowell. Bev makes a very nice looking wife and mother, even on a moon. I think Arnie thinks so too, Bev. I hear thst she now has seven children. I looked toward one of the other moons and I haopened to notice a castle, so I decided to investigate, because no one but a member of the class of 1956 could live there. Sure enough it belonged to none other than Joe Hartig. The castle was all glass, the kind that he could look out of and no one could see in. He had thirty-four rooms. That was his favorite number for some reason or other. Joe becsme rich by inventing a cure for the number one disease everywhere, the common cold. Good work, Joe. Joe told me that Varilynn (Pearlie) Tennis was now living on the sun. I rode over to see her but her children told me that she was out trying a new kind of rocket for the Air Force of the Sun. Her husband was making dinner for her return. I then rode off, after saying good-by, for Venus. I nosed around a bit and then spotted Dave Gilchrist and Garry Hostetler. They were now neighbor's, both having farms. They were talking over the fence. I stopped by to see how they were doing. Dave still was using hi3 Chalmers products, but Garry was trying out a new Jet propelled mach- inery. Dave had a 6,792 acre farm and Garry had a 7 269 acre farm. Inci iently, right after graduation in '56, Garry served seven years In the United States Karines and decided to move to Venus to become a farmer which held a much better future. I agree Garry. t ā€ž V]en 83 1 headed back for borae 1 stopped on the earth’s moon and I found none other then Marilyn Wolff and her husband planting a small garden by their suburban home. Marilyn now is raising a fine family of twelve children. Good work Marilyn. After visiting all my classmates, I, Joan Van Dlerendonck, looked at my watch and saw that I had been gone a good two hours and It was nearing dinnertime. I hurried home to the good old earth to make dinner for my three children and ray husband who la now a General In the United States Air Porce, I think our class made out okay, don’t you?
