J l I SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Our Life Story in Three Acts Act I, Scene I The setting is the first grade room of M. C. G. S. in the year 1936 on a momentous day in September. The actors are four trembling first graders, Mild- red Toman, a smiling bashful child of fiveg Gordon Kay, well supplied with spitwads and sling shots with which to launch his career as a school boy, nBilly' Howe, an extremely healthy looking youngster with not a hair out of its well chosen place: and Isabelle Case, a patch on her forehead, the aftermath of a quarrel with her little sister. The ensuing events are typical of any first grad- ers experiencing their first plunge into read1n', 'ritin, and 'rithmetec. Scene II As the curtain rises we find on stage in addition to the original cast, La Verne Cas he was known thenl Lengacher, book in hand ready to answer any question he may be asked Scene III About the middle of the act, there appears on stage a blonde little girl, Ginger Vandermeer whose feelings are utterly crushed when she is first put in the second reading class She later gains her reward by being advanced to the first reading class Scene IV Amid the December snow scene, a blue eyed, blonde girl from Wisconsin is viewed mingling with the other class members who are already looking forward to the day, they too, shall enter high school and be Wall grown up Before the curtain falls La Verne leaves the act to return in a latter phase of our play SceneV Tap dancing and ballet is the main feature of the of the fifth act Girls in this act are enrolled in a dancing class when we are joined by Phyllis Anden son from McM1nv1lle who excels along this line CCont on next pagel ...-f f' f i E r ! Scene VII From the nearby 'city' of Gates, the cast is joined by Valleda Moberg who soon becomes more famili arly known as 'Butch'. Scene VIII Our teacher in this act brings her daughter, Carol Sletto, to join our class. We are very much enter tained by her piano playing. At the close of this final scene of the first act, the eight members of the class are seen bidding adieu to grade school days and anxiously anticipating enter ing high school in the fall. Act II, Scene I Thirty eight people crowd the stage as the curtain rises but before the curtain falls several fade from the scene New students remaining with the eight orig inal ones are Carroll Johnston, the Pietrok twins, Louis and Louise, Clyde Richards, and Jeanette Nydeggen Scene II This scene is taken up mostly with the entering and leaving of several students Scene III Entering at the beginning of the scene is Duane McFadden, who, near the end of the act is destined to fill the enviable office of student body president Scene IV Bob Kanoff, Dick Nichols, and Marvin Cunningham enter this final scene of the second act to add to our football team which plays in the quarter finals for the first time in several years All present and accounted for, the nineteen members of the class anxiously await that dramatic last act of the play Act III The curtain rises for a few short minutes and the audience beholds the nineteen students, in their minds looking backward to the days that lie behind them and looking ahead to the many experience and adventures which the future holds THE END ,.,-ff 0 e O O u S 0 - -- ': f:..ii:f I--2 3 , N, ' ' ?5','fji,113i3ii5Ef2E5IgE5E5:.215.
