AcTualIy They are jusT ordi- nary people who enjoy maTh more Than oThers. The basic purpose of The lVIaTh Club was To encourage an inTeresT in maThemaT- ics by reviewing concepTs you are learning. Thomas Dahl said in a simpler way, IT aids me in my regular maTh work. The club gives you a head sTarT on fuTure concepTs in a relaxed aTmosphere. During The sTudy ses- sions, you relax as you lisTen To music, eaT, and make fun of some of The nerdy people. They also Take parT in The social evenTs such as picnics, parTies, and oTher fun evenTs. Randy Ofaka said, I joined The club be- cause of Their parTies. lT's a really fun cIub! 'IThis year is special because we had a IoT of people joining The club, said Derrick Yama- maTo. AnoTher club ThaT promoTed inTeresT in The maTh field was Mu Alpha TheTa. Mu Al- pha TheTa was an honorary club whose main goals were To spread The knowledge in maTh. During The summer of 87', five sTu- denTs and Two advisors aTTended The na- Tional convenTion in SeaTTIe. The Team broughT much fame and glory To our school and sTaTe. The sTudenTs scored very high and won many awards. Sharl Sawa, The youngesT member of The Team said, I was so amazed aT The abiliTy and TalenT of The oTher Mu Alpha TheTa Teams and I really enjoyed The experience of compeTing wiTh so many peopIe. ThroughouT The year, The members aT- Tended maTh sTudy sessions. Kathy Man- zoku replied, l'STudy sessions . . . ugh, buT iT really heIpsI To sum up The year, Maria Gaiman said hysTericaIly, We're in MACD because we're all insane and love iT.
