The Homecoming 3 Committee was responsible for every acTiviTy during The weekof OoTober 'l8Th Through The 23rd. They began in The summer month of July and worked hard afTer school. They sTorTeal early because They needed a loT of Time To plan ahead. Responsible for all The Homecoming acTiviTies, They planned The bonfire, pep rally, The parade, The fooTbaII game, and helped The Social CommiTTee wiTh The dance. We all remember Homecoming SpiriT Week, wiTh such acTlviTies as dress ups, dance com- peTiTions, lip synchs, and relays. The ouTcome of The compeTiTion was The Seniors in flrsT place, winning The spirlT Trophy. The Sopho- mores came in second, The Juniors Third, and The Freshman in fourTh place. I Think we won since This was our lasT year, our pride and spirlT was sTronger Than ever, said Senior Cheryl Fabella. All we saw was The uniTy and spiriT in our school, buT IT was a loT of work, said Junior Chairperson Debbie Mlyasaka. BuT iT was worTh a week In the Spotlight wiTh The enTire school. ,lim IT Takes Work For A Few Hours In The SpoTlighT ur school dances were fun and exciTing, buT have you ever ThoughT of The hard work ThaT wenT inTo iT'? IT wasn'T jusT Thrown TogeTher aT once. lT Takes Time and efforT To make The dances go jusT righT. The Social Commllfee prepared all The dances This year. They decided on The Themes for The dances. To publicize iT, They painTed posT- ers for The sTudenT body. The commiTTee made and sold TickeTs, hired a company for The music, and cleaned up afTer everyone had lefT. This was a loT of work for a dance. The Weicome Dance was a success wiTh sold ouT TickeTs, and The Homecoming Dance in The gym was fifsT. Chairperson Kari Mafsui said, The Homecoming Dance was a success because There was a loT of pubIiciTy and The TickeT sales were convenient Social Committee member Nhwle Gusfle said, 'Tl liked The Welcome Dance because They played good jams. Edidn'T like The Homecoming Dance as much because l had To work, Tying The shoes were painful, and we had To colIecT gum. Some sTudenTs don'T realize how much preparaTion is puT inTo iT.
