T ue Love s Special The elevator ride up to the ballroom of the Prince Kuhio Hotel was tense as murmurs and hints of laughter played upon the occupants. Nervous anticipation could be seen on everyone's faces. After presenting their tickets at the door, the couples gazed through the lavish hall and searched for their table. Light conver- sation set in as they awaited the arrival of the rest of the couples. It was December 21, Winterball night - a time for dining, dancing, and just having a good time. Lacking the formality and rigidness of proms, everyone had the opportunity to display their own particular styles and modes of dress. Senior Matt Anbe said, I had a hard time finding the right clothes! After checking out each other's 'Sragsf' everyone pro- ceeded to a separate room to take pictures by the popular Nateis Photography. A dinner buffet, which included shoyu chicken, fish, salad and assorted desserts, gratified many people, including Jojo Dona, a Senior: The food was good! he exclaimed. Eating dinner was a task for many people since their manners were supposed to be at their finest. Crowded was the best definition of the dance floor, but the fun and excitement more than made up for it. Many left the hotel to seek further enjoyment. Senior Marci Lau said she was looking forward to having fun afterward. Her sentiments were shared by others. Many went to see the perenial favorite: the Frank DeLima Show. Some played scavenger hunts, went to hotel parties, or just took a stroll on the beach. The couples shared many moments that night, memories frozen for years to come.
