Trojans ShooT for The Siarslll ln December, The boys lefT on a Trip To Okinawa, Taiwan, and Korea To meeT and play againsT Their Asian counTerparTs. Of The Two games played, The guys won one, buT The major experience was The knowledge gained and friends meT while on The Trip iTself. 'TWe Toured around a loT, said John Casslum, and some of The places were neaT To see. Mlke Cooley said ThaT he enjoyed The facT ThaT They compeTed againsT Teams from oTher places and backgrounds. AnoTher highlighT To The boys' preseason was Their game againsT The Mililani faculTy in which The Team was forced To play againsT Their own Coach Apicerno. The faculTy prevailed in The game, wiTh a score of 66 To 52. The J.V. Trojans were aT home againsT Waianae in Their firsf season game, and The pressure was on. WiTh full supporT of The fans, Mililani was vicTorious wiTh a greaT poinT spread. WiTh The background of gruelling six-day per week prac- Tices, a roTaTion sysTem of capTains, greaT coaches and de- TerminaTion, The J.V. baskeTball boys were bound for success.
