dimer Wall We, the Senior Class of 1953, being in sound mind and body, and having spent four of the most wonderful years of our lives in MTHS. do hereby make this last will and testament: I, Ted Balanoff, will to Alpha McCann my good training habits, such as: no smoking, drinking, or chewing, being in bed at 9:00 every night, and positively no girls. I, David Crawford, will the honor of being Senior Class President E0 jerry Purdin, and the callouses on my fingers from football, to Bob vans. I, Marge Doud, will my position as floor manager at the skating rink to Danny Balanoff, and my quiet disposition to Kenny Doud. We, the four lfirty gerties of MTHS, Berni C Smith, Val F Henke, Wanda R Callahan, and Beverly A Davis,wi5ht0 will our fun and good times Calso slumber partiesj and our places in the halls of MTHS, to the four future f1irty gerties , Polly Stephenson, Nancy Allen, Margie Smith, and Earaleta Hickman. I, Kenny Ecker, will my athletic abilities to Terry Clark, and the cast on my leg to Onarga. Here's hoping we have an undefeated team next year. I, Fred Focken, will my system of getting out of Home Room, and my position as being the only boy in Typing II, to Don Schumacher. I, Phyllis Garrelts, will my shy, quiet manner to Sylvia Allen. I, Duane Hawthorne, will my love for school to all those who might need it in future years. I, Ann Hixson, will my ability to stick to one man for four years, to Elaine Lehmann and to Wayne Kruse, I will the first sead in the saxo- phone section. I, Wayne Hulgan, will my safe driving habits to ferold Dude Shoufler. He needs them!!! I, Bill Langfahl, will my love for chemistry to Bob Neal. Please don't blow up the lab!! I, joanne Lauterbach, will my sparkling brown eyes to any poor blue-eyed Freshman. I, Norma Luening, will my artistic hand to my sister, Donna, and my German vocabulary to anyone on Sivil's bus who can't understand it. Gloria Morr, will my speaking ability to Leslie Crist, and the I. job of hauling girls to dances, to Ruth Leitz. I, Robert Humm, will my quiet dual exhaust to Mr. Longbrake. I hope you can make it through Watseka without an escort. I, Lavern Natschke, leave my brain as a small contribution to science, and my way with women to Wayne Kruse. Good luck!! I, Beverly Norenberg. will my ability to get along with my teach- ers and my love for books to Don Davis. I, Gordon Pratt, will my mature bass voice to Larry Laird. Take good care of it. I, Margaret Probasco, will my flirting techniques to Phyllis Schro- eder. and my skill at volley ball to any Junior who needs it.. I, Geraldine Roberson, will my southern accent to Miss Phares. Are you all from Texas, too? I, Karen Roeder, will the fun I have had in MTHS to Kay Rothgeb, and my ability to lose everything to Jerold Shoufler. I'm going to turn over a new leaf. UZQA4 Forty-three frightened, but excited members of the Class of '53 started their first day of high school life in the fall of '49. After we became accustomed to the High School, we held a class meeting to elect our officers. They were: President, David Crawford: Vice-Presi- dent. Carrell Marshall, Secretary, Bernadine Parisg Treasurer, Marian Lauterbachg and Student Council Members, Beverly Davis and Kenny Ecker. our class sponsofs were Miss English, Miss Englund and Mr. Piersol. We nominated Beverly Davis and Beverly Doud as our Queen Candidates for the Homecoming. We made the first year and we were anxiously looking for- ward to the next three years. Back again! Now we are Sophomores in the year '50. We find we have lost several members and have gained one. We again held a class meeting and elected the following officers, President, Beverly Davis, Vice-President, Glenn Longley, Secretary-Treasurer, Bernadine Paris, and Student Council members, Karen Roeder and Fred Focken. Mr. Hike and. Mr. Hitchen served as our class sponsors during the year. For our Homecoming we chose as our Queen Candidates: Beverly Doud, Marjorie Doud and Margaret Probasco. As our float theme we chose Raking Gilman Over the Coa1s . As we left school the last day, we were looking for- ward to two more years of learning. In the fall of '51, we began the busiest year of all. Juniors!!! First, we met and elected class officers: President, Glenn Longley, Vice-President, Bernadine Parisg Secretary, Marian Lauterbachg Treasur- er, Ann Hixson: Reporter, Beverly Davis: Student Council, Gloria Morr and Kenny Ecker. Due to our President leavingnschool in january, Berna- dine Paris became our President and Beverly Davis and Karen Roeder be- came our Vice-President and reporter. In October came our big Home- coming. We chose as our Queen Candidaees Beverly Davis, Gloria Morr and Joanne Lauterbach. Everyone was happy when Gloria Morr was chosen Home- coming Queen. Our float theme was, Rowing Rossville Under . In November several different companies came to show us class rings and we finally chose the josten's ring. Next was the big dance of the year. Our Prom was held on May 2. IQS2- The theme was, Hawaiian Paradise. The sponsors who guided us through that busy year were: Miss Ditt- linger, Mrs. Geddes and Mr. Bicket. After three months of vacation, we were finally sophisticated seniors, although we only have thirty-one seniors. The first thing we decided to do was elect class officers, President, David Crawford: Vice- President, Beverly Davis: Secretary, Marian Lauterbachg Treasurer, Ann Hixsong Reporter, Bernadine Smithg Student Council, Beverly Davis and Gordon Pratt, and our sponsors that guided us through the year are Miss Stough, Mr. Carpenter, and Mr. Hitchen. Marian Lauterbach, Beverly Davis and Valdonna Henke were the Queen attendents at the Homecoming dance representing the Class of 53 . Our float theme was The Best Man Won . ' Q Our senior pictures were taken by Blankenburg and arrived before Christmas., . Before we knew it, we were busy working on our Reveille with Gordon Pratt as Editor-in-chief.
