UZQA4 Forty-three frightened, but excited members of the Class of '53 started their first day of high school life in the fall of '49. After we became accustomed to the High School, we held a class meeting to elect our officers. They were: President, David Crawford: Vice-Presi- dent. Carrell Marshall, Secretary, Bernadine Parisg Treasurer, Marian Lauterbachg and Student Council Members, Beverly Davis and Kenny Ecker. our class sponsofs were Miss English, Miss Englund and Mr. Piersol. We nominated Beverly Davis and Beverly Doud as our Queen Candidates for the Homecoming. We made the first year and we were anxiously looking for- ward to the next three years. Back again! Now we are Sophomores in the year '50. We find we have lost several members and have gained one. We again held a class meeting and elected the following officers, President, Beverly Davis, Vice-President, Glenn Longley, Secretary-Treasurer, Bernadine Paris, and Student Council members, Karen Roeder and Fred Focken. Mr. Hike and. Mr. Hitchen served as our class sponsors during the year. For our Homecoming we chose as our Queen Candidates: Beverly Doud, Marjorie Doud and Margaret Probasco. As our float theme we chose Raking Gilman Over the Coa1s . As we left school the last day, we were looking for- ward to two more years of learning. In the fall of '51, we began the busiest year of all. Juniors!!! First, we met and elected class officers: President, Glenn Longley, Vice-President, Bernadine Parisg Secretary, Marian Lauterbachg Treasur- er, Ann Hixson: Reporter, Beverly Davis: Student Council, Gloria Morr and Kenny Ecker. In October came our big Home- coming. We chose as our Queen Candidaees Beverly Davis, Gloria Morr and Joanne Lauterbach. Everyone was happy when Gloria Morr was chosen Home- coming Queen. Our float theme was, Rowing Rossville Under . In November several different companies came to show us class rings and we finally chose the josten's ring. Next was the big dance of the year. Our Prom was held on May 2. IQS2- The theme was, Hawaiian Paradise. The sponsors who guided us through that busy year were: Miss Ditt- linger, Mrs. Geddes and Mr. Bicket. After three months of vacation, we were finally sophisticated seniors, although we only have thirty-one seniors. The first thing we decided to do was elect class officers, President, David Crawford: Vice- President, Beverly Davis: Secretary, Marian Lauterbachg Treasurer, Ann Hixsong Reporter, Bernadine Smithg Student Council, Beverly Davis and Gordon Pratt, and our sponsors that guided us through the year are Miss Stough, Mr. Carpenter, and Mr. Hitchen. Marian Lauterbach, Beverly Davis and Valdonna Henke were the Queen attendents at the Homecoming dance representing the Class of 53 . Our float theme was The Best Man Won .
