SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the Fall of '46, fifty bewildered freshmen wandered through the halls of NTHS. The locker combinations, numbered roons, and strange faces were a complicated puzzle to us. After learning our way around, we had our first class meeting and elected the following officers: President, Bob Covang Vice-President, Darlene Buhrnesterg Secretary- Treasurer, Jean Fanningg Student Council members, Dorothy Hill and Betty Matson. Our class sponsors were Miss Beverly Alderson and R. C. Tursbaugh. Donna Fritch served as cheerleader. Her friendly spirit made us proud of her. We chose Jean Fanning and Lucille Stebbins as our Homecoming queen candidates. Since we were only freshmen and not too well known, we were astonished and thrilled when Jean becare queen. We survived the first trying year and we were looking forward to the next three years. In September of '47, having lost our previous shyness, we returned to school after a splendid vacation. Soon we chose our class officers with Miss Ann Dittlinger and Mr. Eldon Hitchens assisting us: President, Bob Corgensong Vice-President, David Ritenourg Secretary-Treasurer, Doris Ueidrg Student Council members, Beverly Comer and Ramon Cantway. Again we were honored to have a member of our class, Doris Meida, chosen as cheerleader. Her poise made the members of the teams more self-confident and helped make the crowds more sportsmanlike. Next came the excitement of Homecoming. With a determination to win again this year, we norinated Mary Arnold and Doris Ueida as queen candidates. Our king candidates were Bob Jorgensen and Jin Brum ett. We were again successful, for Mary was crowned Homecoming queen. Since it was Leap Year, we sponsored a UTwirpU Dance in which the girls invited the boys. We enjoyed managing our first dance. Just think! We became juniors in that fateful year of '48. With dreams of a pleasant year and Q beautiful prom, the class officers were chosen with Bob Cowan as President, Mary Arnold, Vice-Presidentg Marylin Nichols, Secretaryg Edward Bohlman, Treasurer, and Edith Ramsey and David Ritenour, Student Council members. A new member of our class, Edith Ramsey, became cheerleader. Her grand school spirit and winning smile were an inspiration to both teams and spectators alike, Under the able assistance of our class sponsors, Miss Ann Dittlinger and Mr. William Handles, we sponsored the Homecoming Dance. Our queen candidates were Edith Ramsey and Marylin Nichols. This year the juniors revived the Homecoming parade. The gaiety and enthusiasm over the parade helped,to make Homecoming more successful. Soon.we began working diligently on our Junior-Senior prom, the theme of which was NSpring Ballet.H Us had a magnificent time dancing to the music of Lu George in our beautiful pastel-colored ballroom. At last, we were Usophisticatedu seniors, although there were only forty in our class. For our final year we chose the following officers:
