Class History As our senior class of 1956 looks back over our past four years, we see many changes. We have had four years of fun, education, and even disappointments. The first couple of weeks of school were very frightening for the eight new freshmen, who were Beverly Puck, Donita Shandy, Betty Bruce, Carol Mellinger, Delores Mullen, Buford Miller, Stanley Shivers, and Ron Shandy, Mrs. Arthur Jones was our sponsor. We were scared to death of initiation because several of us had older brothers and sis- ters who said they would really be rough, As the day of initiation came, we found out that initiation wasn't so bad after all, in fact, we had more fun that day than any other time during our freshman year. Of course, all of us were rather shy during this first year but we got along just fine with everyone and our first step of high school was complet- ed. During our first few months of school, Glena Babb joined our class, Delores Mullen left our class that year and attended Chapman High School, where the Mullen family had made their home. Our second year began a little different for us. We felt much different as far as shyness was concerned, Mr. Lauren Gaddis was our class sponsor and we really started getting the class spirit. That year we started making money for our class. We had a class party and joined many other activities. Shirley Dornberger joined our class starting our sophomore year, she had been a former student at Wakefield High School. Donita Shandy left the class and later married Jess Decker. They are now living south of Milford. Our high School career WHS halfway completed, but our junior year was very busy. Betty Bruce left our class and moved to Wyoming, where she later married. During this year, we had our Junior Play, entitled Mama's Angel Child , Mrs. Sheila Peleaux, our class sponsor, sponsored the play, Also we prepared the Jr-Sr, Banquet, The theme of our banquet was Moonlight and Roses , We really worked to make our banquet a success. ' At last, the year we had been waiting for finally came, our senior year. We wanted to make the most of our last year, and we did, Of course, we studied very hard, but we also had a lot of fun, Each day we knew that it was getting closer to graduation, When the time came in May, it was the unforgettable day of our school career, We knew that after that day, each one of us would take a new and different road in the future.

Junk.,-, Class Prophecy Our little town of Milford has really been growing since the Milford Dam was built. My hotel overlooks the Milford Dam. It is beautifully decorated and has an indoor swim ming pool, the Skyline, which has a big dance every evening with a very popular dance band, and to top that off, each room has a different room feature. Carol Mellinger has really gone a long was since she graduated from college, She is now a recording star for RCA Victor and she also has a TV program on CBS net- work. Her main songs are blues and she is staying in the Blue Room. Buford Miller became an ambassador to Great Britain. While he lives in the United States, he rents a penthouse in New York City, I-Ie met the prime minister's daughter on his last trip and married her before returning home, He wanted the penthouse suite on the top floor, Here comes our movie star of the graduating class. She won her fame in western movies and in the show Our Class. We were not really surprised at Beverly Puck being a movie star, because she starred in all the high school plays. She chose our western decorated room to stay in. We are very lucky to have the President of the People's National Bank system. He graduated from Brown Mackie's Business School and started to work right away after graduation. Stanley Shivers chose the bridal suite for his room. He married the daughter of the Kansas governor about two weeks ago. Our swimrning pool is really getting a workout now that Shirley Dornberger is stay- ing here. She has won the Women's National Swimming Award and she has also won many water skiing contests, While she is living here she is going to show us how she won he-r awards. I'm not surprised that she wanted the room overlooking the Milford Darn, Our baseball star was seen by the Kansas City Athletics and asked to join them, After he joined them, they went on to win the World Series. He became so famous that MGM wanted to do the story of his life, Our sports room was the favorite with Ronald Shandy. Glena Babb married a boy from Industry after graduating from school. They now have a big cattle ranch near there, She now has two lovely daughters. Glena likes our old fashioned room. ' Well, things have really changed for me since I started into the hotel business. It was wonderful teaching at M.R,H.S, but since I am a retired teacher it is wonderful to be able to see all my students having reunions in the hotel, I am hoping that we will soon have another reunion in my hotel,
