Ode To The Seniors Two fair maidens And five strong youths, Entered Milford High School To seek out life's truths, Martin Dornberger and Raymond Shivers Are the best of pals, They both give attention To all of the gals, Velma Stevens and Charlotte Bentz Truly a perfect blend, For, to heck with the studies, It's all out for the men, Roy Head and Velrna Stevens Make a perfect pair, She with her cheering ability He with his curly hair, Now Raymond Shivers and Gene Christensen Their names beginning with R and G Ohf They have so much in common When it's just the letters R and G Martin Dornberger and Gene Christensen The tall and the small, Gene with his sports stands strong with all But, staunch is Martin as Old King Saul, And finally our President, Roy Head And Charlotte Bentz the lucky one, They fight for the right And are as brilliant as the sun, So fair were the maidens And, as strong were the youths, As they left Milford High School To seek out life's TRUTHS,

Class Prophecy As I was sitting on the post office corner in the year 1970 discussing local politics of the city of Milford, I noticed a book lying in the gutterg the booklwas old but still legible and clean, This we owe to Mr, Raymond Shivers, the local street cleaner and oil magnate, who struck it rich while digging a cesspool for his filling station there, As I began scanning the book I saw the author was Roy Head, who has also written the well known book on, How to Win and Woo a Woman, I will now quote the preface, Roy Head dedicated this book to his fellow classmates of 1954, The dedication and main entries are as follows: There are few names in this book, but not few enough, The only entrants who deserve aplace on this roll of honor are the members of the class of 1954, 'a distinguished and intel- lectual group, In order to fill up the pages, other names were inserted, but need not be taken seriously. Gene Christensen, the heartbreaker of the class of '54, is a noted Veter- inarian in the fair city of Milford, Since he established his professional business there, the little town .we once knew is not a little town any more. Milford haslthrived under the direction of Mr. Christensen who was elected as mayor, Velma SfevenS.wh0Se ambition has always been to become a nurse now has a hospital of her own, She has taken over the hospital building and has devoted all her time taking care 'of all the stray dogs and cats that have been around Milford for several years, trying to make their last moments on earth comfortable, ' Martin Dornberger, a noted athlete of his highschool days decided not to become a professional basketball player after all, Instead he decided to follow' in his father's footsteps and become a farmer, He and his wife are now at home on a farm west of Milford, Charlotte Bentz, now Mrs, Larry Denver, is teaching school in the little school she attended when a child, Milford Grade School, Little Larry Jr, is in the first grade this year and his mother is having quite a time controlling him, how- ever, she hopes someday he will forget all the things his father taught him and amount to something after all, Roy Head, whom I mentioned before as author of this book, has won fame for his literary work, He and his wife, are now visiting in the Ozark hills gathering material for their new book, entitled' Hillbilly Paradise, Roy a prominent member of the class of '54 has gone a long way since we last saw him, Raymond Shivers, as we previously mentioned, is local street cleaner and oil magnate, fMilford now has all paved streets and guttersj Raymond is now busily occupied cleaning up and rebuilding the old Mellinger Store which burned in the year of '48, It is said that Raymond had fond memories of the old store and this is the reason for rebuilding, Our old coach and annual sponsor, Lauren Gaddis is becoming famous for his all boy basketball team which consists of his seven sons, Five, are already on the main string with two reserves, It seems that Gaddis got discouraged coaching girls' basketball at Milford High School in the year '53 and '54,
