Music is well said to be the speech of angels. This might be directed to our A Capella Choir with its many achievements in the music world. The choir has made sev- eral public appearances in local radio and television pro- Dramaiics The dramatics class is a combination of students who want speech and dramatics, and is under the instruction of Miss Ruth Riley. The purpose ofthe course is to give students an opportunity to appear before the public, to learn poise, and to acquire an interest in drama. The class has given four very entertaining assemblies, and supplies the dra- matic part of the Christmas program. lt also gives an annual play which is sponsored by the Student Government. ln order to qualify for a part in the play, a student must have appeared in one assembly during the year. This year the group presented George Washington Slept Here, which proved to be a complete success. grams, as well as in many community organizations. Under the competent direction of Mr. Clarence Beard, it has be- come a very popular group, giving the school and com- munity an opportunity to share in good music. Honor The John Edwin Espey Chapter of the National Honor Society is an organization made up of students who have qualified in the fields of scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and school service, The main purpose of the society is to benefit its members and the school by working on worth- while proiects such as the milk bar, the first alumni dance held on November 24, and a scholarship to a deserving senior in the organization. The Honor Society is advised by Mr. George Schluder- berg and Mr. Albert Sgro, with Nelson Macken as president. The other ofticers are Andrea Vlases, vice-presidentg Lynne Vyner, treasurer, and Nancy Weiller, secretary. Society 98 The Milk Bar-an Honor Society proiect.

Jones, listen as Miss Hinman explains how to hold o tennis racket. Chess Club Checkmate! Any person in the Chess Club will recognize this as the cry of victory. Keen competition was set up in this club which was sponsored by Mr. Harold Lott. lO0 Officials Club ln the Officials Club, sponsored by Miss Jean Shelley, girls learn all the rules of the different sports. On Intramural night they assist by ofticiating at the games among the four grades. Tennis Club The green tennis courts at Milford are constantly in active use by the Tennis Club. The club is under the direction of Miss Gilda Hinman and its main obiective is to teach the rules of tennis, which are then put to use on the courts. E. Golden. R. Wills rack their brains 'trying to outwit each other in a chess game. Mr. Lott sponsored -the club.
