11... An important part of sewing was being sure that everything was cut properly, as Patti Higgins demonstrated. Home Economics Teaches Domestic Skills Courses offered included Home and Family Living, a one year course, and one semester courses: Child Rearing, Home Nursing, Clothing, Interior Decoration, and Foods. Each was designed to express the individuality, creativity, and social concern of the student. The different classes exhibited their handy-work in dis- play cases in the halls. The items in the display cases ranged from garments such as jumpers and pants to other things such as stuffed animals. Ideas for home decoration were also displayed. Often, by studying the past, the students were able to understand the world as it is today.
