Mr. Crescenzo Mrs. Lorraine Mrs. Linda Taylor Mr. Allen Dodd Piscitclli O'Grady Students Uffered A More Flexible Art Course In order to offer students a more flexible art course, Art History was changed into two half-year courses: Art His- tory and Modern Art. ln this way, students were not re- quired to lake a full year of Art History. The art courses were designed to allow the students to experiment and to develop their own techniques. The emphasis on individual goals encouraged the students to become personally involved with their projects. Creativity and individuality was an important part in the art classes. Hurrying to finish before the bell, Sharon Weiss cleared her table.

While her class sat quietly, Miss Elaine Barbce demonstrated her vocal techniques . usic Department Adds New Courses The Music Department experienced many changes with the addition of several new courses. Modern Music, Piano, Music Literature, and Vocal Techniques have helped students to develop and discover their musical talents and capabilities. The band. directed by Mr. Donald Costello. performed during half-time of football games, and played at the annual Spring Concert, and at an assembly. For those students who possessed singing talents, there was the A Cappella Choir. Mr. Harry Lingdell directed the choir for the annual Christmas Assembly and the Spring Concert. Miss Elaine Barbee, besides being di- rector of Girls' Chorus. found time to direct the Senior Play. In the spring, under the direction of Mrs. Shirley New- ton, seniors went abroad to England and France to see the I birthplaces of British and French authors. 1 QF surf' While the rest of Mrs. Brown's English class was in the midst of a discussion, Donna Honore and Diane Wood expressed mixed emotions.
