It is very probable that after this year our class will disperse, only to move to distant parts. In looking at our yearbooks a long time from now, somehow seeing the faces of old friends, intermingled with the surround- ings in which we knew them, will revive more vivid memories. In a way, the changii X seasons shown in these pictures are rcl ,sen ative of our passing school years. As tl ese seasons come around again, may we remember through them the season of our youth, our times at Milford High School. Dedication . PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Nearly four years ago, we, the class of 1963, entered high school with only a vague idea of the experience we would encounter. Now, how- ever, as we graduate, we can look back upon our high school years in perspective. In learning to face the problems we encountered here to- gether, we have learned more about facing the uncertainties of life. These years have been happy ones. Many people have helped us in our progress and growth. First, we would like to thank Mr. Her- man, our principal, who has guided us with friendliness and understanding. To our teachers we owe our gratitude and appreciation for their untiring patience ' encouragement. Their constancy and wi. have guided us through these years, their dence will spur us on in the future. Our four years at Milford High School have been enriching ones with the fun of sports and good fellowship, the satisfaction of learn- ing, and the benefits of our many eXtra-curricu- lar activities-who will forget the success of the Junior Play or the Junior Prom? At this time, most of us have mixed feelings. We are proud that we have successfully reached this milestone in our lives. We are sad that our departure has meant good-bye to our friends and teachers, but we are eager to go and meet the challenges of life. We have gained much at Milford High, most particularly a solid foundation upon which to build the rest of our lives. As presi- dent, I would like to express my best wishes to the class of 1963, in the hope that we have successfully contributed our part in achieve- ment and records to the history of Milford High School. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SIGSIZ YE 3 NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Sigma Psi, the Milford High chapter of National Honor Society, is more than merely an honorary group. Included in its goals are encouragement of scholarship and leadership among the student body and the ren- dering of service to the school. To accomplish these ends, this year's Honor Society has set up a printed honor scroll and has presented a banner to the home- room ranking highest scholastically each marking period. Members are chosen on the basis of high scholar- ship, leadership, character and service by members of a faculty council headed by faculty advisor, Miss Maple Percival. Left to Riglalx Gilbert Linder, Bonnie Birks, Frederick Walther, John Greco. Mining: Sally King, Assistant Editor. The yearbook, Wepawaug, is put together in three sections with deadlines in December, February, and March. Picture schedules must be organized and carried out, and the order of the pages must be planned. Next, pages are designed, write-ups are composed, and pictures are proportioned and cropped. One of the most difficult tasks is that of identifying the people in group pictures. Everything which is to be set in print must be typed and then proofread for errors in punctuation, grammar and spelling. The yearbook is without a doubt an activity which demands the most in time and effort of its staff. New York City MElrose 5-4112 THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowthg Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the Hrst for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I W- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Roberl Frou 104 7
