FOREWORD Our graduation marks the one-hundredth anniversary of the first graduating class from Milford High School. Throughout our book we have tried to link the past with the present. While comparing our activities and ambitions with those of Milford High students one hun¬ dred years ago, we found that, like 1962, 1862 was the best of times and the worst. Because we are proud to be this special class we have tried to make this edition of the Oak, Lily, and Ivy a special one. Our most important feature, of course, is the comparison we have made between the year 1862 and the present time. In addition to pictures from the past and familiar local scenes, we are particularly happy with our pet project—color. It is the sincere wish of the Oak, Lily, and Ivy committee that the product of our efforts will be a rewarding climax to the high school career of each member of the class of sixty-two.

DEDICATION Charles J. Brucato As our four happy and profitable years at Milford High School draw to an end, it is most fitting that we try to express our deep appreciation for his patient instruction, his contagious enthusiasm as a coach in days gone by, and his sincere friendship. This dedication can only be thought of as a small token in return for his many efforts in our behalf. It is with pride and affection that we, the class of 1962 and the one-hundredth graduating class of Milford High School dedicate this edition of the Oak, Lily, and Ivy to Charles J. Brucato. 4
