Scltoal Gamnuttee David I. Davoren, Superintendent; W. Wallace O ' Brien; Atty. Anna M. (Berardi) O ' Brien, Vice Chairman; Dr. Nicholas A. Mastroianni, Chairman; Dr. Nicholas J. Capece; Atty. William V. Bellantonio; Marco A. Balzarini. The guiding force of the Milford School System is the School Committee. This capable group of men and one woman is a versatile one representing many important professions and positions. Mr. Balzarini, for example, in addition to his position as school committeeman is chairman of the Milford Board of Selectmen and Dr. Capece, also a committeeman, is chairman of the Milford Board of Health. We are proud of these capable and intelligent directors of our school system and believe that they are owed a debt of gratitude for their conscientious planning. These efficient leaders have worked painstakingly to make our stay at Milford High School The Best Years of Our Lives. 10

and the knowledge gleaned in her classes form a foundation for our future life. Sometimes we wonder how Miss Cenedella can retain her calm composure with the high school band practicing in the room below A-2. The English dictation must go on, and she does her level best to keep it going smoothly. Miss Colavita is a recent addition to the teaching staff of the high school and a perma¬ nent one we hope. She is the one who starts those freshmen off on the right foot with her advice. Do you want to know why x is the unknown, or why it snows? Our science and algebra teacher, Mr. Consoletti can probably explain these phenomena to you. The freshmen cer¬ tainly look awed by his enlightening explanations. Not only does Miss Curtin serve as a teacher of commercial subjects, but she is always on hand when the Student Council needs advice. We cannot fully express our thanks to her for her excellent counselling. Another recent addition to the staff is Mr. DiBattista, our good-natured Italian teacher. Where would the Dante Club be without him? His classes are fun to take part in, never too serious, never too frivolous. No one ever seems to know where Mr. Espanet is. He may be teaching, coaching the football team, or giving physical education drill to the children of the grammar school grades. But wherever he is, his pleasing manner goes with him. No business student has ever completed his course of study without being taught by Miss Agnes Lynch. Energetic and full of vim and vigor, she is well liked by all. Did you ever see a small figure darting down the corridor? It was probably Miss Claire Lynch, who is so small she could be taken for a freshman. Those science experiments that she performs really are something to see. If you want to learn how to speak distinctly and walk and sit correctly, see Miss O ' Con¬ nell. She adds to the reading of Shakespeare ' s works by her fine interpretations. If you need a book for a book report, visit the library, where Mr. O ' Donnell, besides teaching history and commercial law, reigns. Is he the reason why the library is always full of students? The ability of Miss Margaret Pyne to teach the fundamentals of business training is shown by the products of her labor, good, efficient business men and women all. Was that William Bendix who just passed by? No, it was our excellent physical educa¬ tion director, Mr. Charles Brucato. His excellence in the teaching of baseball fundamentals is shown by the number of trophies won by our team last year. Are you a patron of the Arts? Under the direction of Mr. DiGiannantonio and Miss Whipple, our appreciation of the finer things in life was encouraged. Every one would like to lead a band but few do it with the finesse of Ben whose versa¬ tility was responsible for the success of many of our appearances at civic functions.
