We of the class of 19f 5 are happy to dedicate these pages to the faculty of the Milford High School. We truly appre¬ ciate the patience and time that they have given us both in and out of the classroom. They have certainly guided us toward our motto, “Virtue Alone Is True Nobility”. CORP. J. Miss Del Castello and her attractive office assistants, standing left to right: Mary Carey, Connie Wright, Tina Oneschuk, Eleanor Mongiat, Anna Peronti. Seated left to right: Theresa Del Cas¬ tello, Christine Antelli, Jean Strobeck and Helen Hommand. Principal ' s Office Center of Activity To the members of the class of 1945: In retrospect we recall that you began your high school careers in the Fall of 1941, a date which will be stamped in his¬ tory as “the end of the beginning”. The summer of 1945 brings with it your gradu¬ ation, and in all probability this date will be earmarked in the annals of history as “the beginning of the end”. Yours is the same class which 12 years ago started out in the pursuit of formal education during the year of 1933, which already has been recorded in history as the time at which the world’s biggest and longest depres¬ sion was at its greatest depth. From the above it is quite obvious that during the entire era of your schooldays either economic and financial depression or bloodshed and warfare have set up about us living conditions of continual turmoil. “Acquirement and pleasure should go hand in hand” is an educational axiom that we might well consider, and accord¬ ingly make allowances for the obstacles under which you have carried on. As we approach the horizon of better and happier days ahead always keep in mind your Class Motto, “Virtue Alone is True Nobility”. Apply it to your every thought, word and deed, and your educa¬ tion will have been realized according to a now famous quotation which states: “The general purposes of education are to pre¬ serve the good, to repudiate the evil—and to give scope to the sublime law of pro¬ gression”. James A. Higgiston, Acting Principal. 7
