IULE SEARCHING . I SHARED FRIENDSHIP | as others see us. With this knowledge we are able to mi prove ourselves. Friends make us a more complete person Without friends, we would become lost within ourselves A true friend is like vour second self. -Julie I’ortz. . c. «. ■ .. Throughout a liletime. there exists a natural instinct in everyone to search of an ideal friendship. Whether the Iriendship be with male, female, plant, animal. In our lives, we will always have to accept the [towers and positions of others. In school we have to follow the guidelines of our teachers in addition to those of our parents. We have to follow the instructions of officers when joining organizations. The rules we follow in school, prepare us for the rules we will have to accept in the future. Dedication More unique in many aspects than the classes around them, the senior class of 1974 has individuality. Individual — as people, as a class — This has been expressed in the successful underwater prom theme, the homecoming playpen float and the eating contest. However the seniors have realized that there is more to life than school spirit. The se- niors this year seem to be waiting for the end to begin a new aspect in their search for life. Because of this the Milfordian staff has chosen to dedi- cate this yearbook to the senior class of 1974. 8 Seniors Lorenzo Aleman and Elaine Gilewski enjoy a biology field trip at Fow- lers Beach. BACCALAUREATE JUNE 8, 1974 GRADUATION For the class of 1974, commencement came after four hours of rehearsal and a .June 7 cancellation due to rain. On Saturday June 8, the sun came out just in time for the 6:15 ceremony. Following the theme, “We are-the future”, Cordelia Price, vale- dictorian, and Leesa Meredith, salutorian, deliv- ered their addresses. They were followed by Joseph Biden, senator from Delaware. Awards were then given to outstanding students in the areas of ath- letics, business, music, history, English, and lead- ership. After speeches by board of education members, diplomas were awarded to the 229 members of the class of 1974. Graduation, for many, was a process of waiting — waiting for the end, to begin The sea awcke at midnight from its sleep, And round the pebbly beaches far and wide I heard the first wake of the tide Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep. A voice out of the silence of the deep A sound mysteriously multiplied As of a cataract from the mountains side. Or roar of winds upon a wooded steep. So comes to us at times, from the unknown And inaccessible solitudes of being The rushing of the sea tide of the soul. And inspirations, that we deem our own, Are some divine foreshadowing and foreseeing Of things beyond our reason or control—.
