This year has been the most wonderful year in my whole life and I know that I will never forget it. I enjoyed each minute of the school life, of meeting people, and of learning your language. I want you to know that the doors of my home are open at any time for everybody, and, following in this way, we will have peace in the world. Walk together, talk together, and then, only then, you will have peace in the world. I hope to see you again. Buena suerte por siempre. 39 FUTURE TEACHERS... SEATED: T. Titus, Historian; K. S.okes- Vie, P„,,a,„, IS PROUD TO DEDICATE ITS YEARBOOK TO MRS. IDA CORDER WHO HAS BEEN THE PRINCIPAL’S SECRETARY FOR FOURTEEN YEARS. HER HELPFULNESS AND HER FRIENDLY SMILE HAVE BEEN WELCOMED BY THE STU- DENTS, FACULTY, ADMINISTRATION, AND VISITORS WHO HAVE COME TO MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL. IT IS THEREFORE WITH GREAT APPRECIATION THAT WE DEDI- CATE THE 1969 MILFORDIAN TO MRS. CORDER. 109 THE CLASS OF 1969 May I extend my sincere congratulations to you, the Class of 1969, for the completion of your studies in the Milford High School. I have known most of you for less than a year, but I do feel close to each of you and am quite proud of your accomplishments. It is my sincere hope that you look back upon your high school days with pride and satisfaction and that you will continue to grow in wisdom and understand- ing. My best wishes for a successful and happy future go with you. Principal ’ This year's Senior class is the first class in Milford that I've had the privilege of accompanying throughout its entire high school journey. I saw this class enter high school, resolve the problems of adolescence, and finally develop into mature individuals. It is with deepest pride, great expectation, and perhaps nostalgia, that I witness the graduation of the Class of 1969. no It appears proper that we should record the passing of the Milford Special School District which becomes effective on June 30, 1969. July 1, 1969, ushers in the Milford School District including the complete Ellen- dale, Lincoln, and Houston schools. Milford High School has been serving almost all of this area for years and it should be satisfying to our high school students to know that they are one unit. I trust all students will continue to work in activities that they believe are right, fair and good for all concerned. To the class of '69 I offer congratulations for compiling this year's MILFORDian. May it create a form of nostalgia for your many happy years at - Milford High School. Superintendent Congratulations and best wishes as you assume your positions of leadership in this last third of the Twentieth Century. in The heroic hours of life do not announce their presence by drum and trumpet, chal- lenging us to be true to ourselves by appeals to the martial spirit that keeps the blood at heat. Some little, unassuming, unobtrusive choice presents itself before us slyly and craftily, glib and insinuating, in the modest garb of innocence. To yield to its blandish- ments is so easy. The wrong, it seems, is venial .... Then it is that you will be sum- moned to show the courage of adventurous youth. (Benjamin N. Cardozo, Law and Literature 170 (1931) ). As the heroic hours of your life come innocently and quietly, we who have tried to contribute in some small measure to your accomplishments thus far, will be secure in the knowledge that you will show the world the courage and bravery of adventurous youth. My fondest regards and warmest wishes to each one of you. President THE BOARD OF EDUCATION Dr. W. D. Kimmel Dr. P. Portz Mr. J. S. Walls 112 HISTORY . . . 113 ENGLISH . . .
