DR. RAMON C. COBBS SUPERINTENDENT A progressive school system must be led by an efficient edu- cator who favors progress. Such a leader is Dr. Ramon C. Cobbs. Passersby recognize this progress when they see the school plant expanded by the new gymnasium, the vocational agriculture shop, and the elementary wing consisting of twenty classrooms. Alumni who enter the buildings find that the library has been moved to a larger room in the rear of the building and away from the interfering street noises, that the home economics depart- ment has been moved to the first floor and furnished with modern equipment, that the manual trainingdepartment has been brought up to date by the addition of the best equipment. Interested vis- itors see also visual aid materials and equipment, an art room for students, science rooms so furnished that laboratory exper- iments can be demonstrated, all classrooms redecorated, acou- stical ceilings in the typing room and halls, and a hall leading from the high school building to the new cafeteria. Not only has Dr. Cobbs expanded and improved the school plant but he has increased the faculty, which he has kept fully staffed despite the teacher shortage. In the student he creates the desire to re- turn as a visitor to Milford High School. MR. M. ALEXANDER GLASMIRE PRINCIPAL Mr. Glasmire has accomplished much for the school and its students since he became principal in 1948. The curriculum has been expanded to include subjects for both the general and the academic student. Through his wisdom and perseverence, our extracurricular program has been expanded, especially in the fields of music and physical education and in the formation of suchclubsas the rifle club, the photography club, the stagecraft club, and the literary organization. Members of the Class of 1953 sincerely appreciate the many opportunities that have been offered as a result of Mr. Glasmire's interest in them as individ- uals. The Seniors are truly thankful for all that he has done to make their past good, their present better, and their future the very best because of their association with him. 7
