d[a±± In the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, fifteen happy youngsters started the climb up the hill of Education. They were: Marita Cooper, Ted Schirmer, Jim Zimmerman, Larry Jantze, Naomi Eigsti, Norman Roll, Dale Hoge, Ruth Smith, Joyce Miller, Robert Stutzman, Lowell Newton, Shirley Lux, Edward Saltzman, Marilyn Hansen, and Ora Roth. Our teacher was Mrs. Elmer Yost. Newcomers in our class as we passed along were: 1st grade—Barbara Williams, Beverly Stolz, Billy Oswald, Clifford Ander¬ son, Grace Roth, Bonnie Jean Roth, Donna Jean Gregg, and Erlis Miller. Our teachers were Miss Bernice Yost and Miss Helen Dauner. 2nd grade—Miss Dauner was our teacher with new members, Ardis Barker, Delverna Roth, and Robert Lee Springer. 3rd grade—Donna Fahrlander, James Rediger, Carol Ann Churchill, Raymond Zimmerman, Donald Hubbard, Janice Yost, Fred Feeken, Marvin Johnson, and Naomi Riley. Miss Schultz was our teacher. 4th grade—New members were John Aden, Laura Dewey, Laura Luebbe, Mary Stauffer, Helen Burkey, Annabel Miller, Howard Miller, and Myrna Stutzman. Our teacher was Mrs. Sutter. 5th grade—Grace Trabert, Clifford Roth, and Imogene Roth, with Miss Sweasey as our teacher. 6th grade—With Miss Sweasey as our teacher again, our new members were Dick Parks, Charles Parks, Eldon Miller, Marilyn Miller, and Jackie Larsen. Lowell Newton re-entered during this year. 7th grade—Iris Becker, Phyllis Chrisman, Tom Godbey, and Max Rich¬ ardson were new members. Donna Fahrlander rejoined our class. Mrs. Scott was our teacher. 8th grade—Joyce Buettgenbach and Yvonne Murphy were the new pupils, and Mrs. Scott was our teacher again this year. Those entering as freshmen were: John Aden, Iris Becker, Phyllis Chrisman, Laura Dewey, Naomi Eigsti, Donna Fahrlander, Lorence Forst, Donald Freeman, Tom Godbey, Marilyn Hansen, Larry Jantze, Norman Kuzel, Laura Luebbe, J oyce Miller, Roland Miller, Norman Roll, Grace Roth, Imogene Roth, Wayne Roth, Edward Saltzman, Ruth Smith, Ray Schweitzer, Ted Schirmer, Mary Stauffer, Robert Stutzman, Delane Welsch, and Janice Yost. Ivan Vagts entered as a sophomore. There were no new enrollments in either the junior or senior grades. There are twenty seniors receiving their diplomas this year.
