We listen to a smiling man who is trying to acquaint us with the school, and also with the many ways that the administration and faculty may help us solve our problems. Students do not ordinarily have much personal contact with the superintendent of a school; however, he always has a smile and a cheerful greeting whenever he meets us, whether it is in school or on the street. AS the years have passed, we have seen more of him; and the more we see, the more we admire and respect him. It is with great pleasure that we7 the Senior Class of 1960, dedicate this hook to Mr. James H. Fley, who has been not only an incomparable superintendent of schools, but through the years has become a warm friend who is interested in each of us. . JAMES H. FLEY Improvement in the quality of education can only be accomplished by making changes in present practices. To meet the needs of our high schoot a continuous and progressive program of curriculum building, better methods of meeting the present educational demands, and greater stress upon indi- vidual guidance are our goals. The present high standards of our high school are the result of the adaptation of new ideas and the holding of students to strict standards of accomplishment. Splendid cn-operation among the administration, teachers, and pupils have resulted in a congenial atmosphere in and about our school. To the Seniors, I extend my congratulations. It is my hope that you will redouble your efforts to continue your education, so essential for your meeting the demands of our time. SIDNEY B. CUTLIP Rosenberger, Vive-President; Mrs. Mullen, Secretary; and Mrs. Fraley. Treasurer, are busily discussing im- provements in their program which they hope will accomplish the goals such as better school education, better world understanding and better parent and family life education. Mrs. Blust, PTA. President; Mrst AND OUR FUTURE NEEDS For eight years Mr. Lloyd Mullett has served as a member of the School Board. and for seven of these years he has been the President. His friendliness and ability to promote co-operation among: the. board, the administration, and the community have made it possible for the accomplishment of many projects for the betterment of the schools. His pleasure in the task of distributing diplomas lo the seniors at Commencement was doubled this year when he had the privi- lege of presenting one to his daughter Beverly. The members of the Milford Exempted Village Buard of Education are industriously discussing one of the many details for their two new schools. The members include Mr. Charles Rosenzweig, Vice-President; Mr. Harry James, Mr. John Carothers. Mr, James H. Fley, Superintendent of Schools; Mr. Floyd Mullen, President; Mr. John Kemp, and Mrs. Violet Snell, Clerk. All of the students did well, but there were two who did exceptionally well. Bill Kietzman, a junior, placed ninth in the state in American History, regardless of Classification. Tom Kemp, a sopho- more, also placed ninth in the state in Biology, regardless of Classification. Dreaming up ideas for this years production were Mr. Gerald Yentes, speech teacher at Milford; Mrs. Marcia Handlin, last year's director. Mr. Lynn Wonder, chorus director. and Mr. Fred Bauer. one of Miiford's former graduates. After weeks and weeks of strenuous work. the directors finally announced that tryouts Would start. Sorting the good from the very good, placing different people in various posi- tions to determine the place best suited for the individual. Barb Robison Jmllyn Gordon Holly Masher adding dance routines. and editing scripts were jobs which were done to make this year's musical bigger and better than last year's. Wonderful Time of 1960 was again on the road to a successful ending. Over 200 students worked along hand in hand to help with this production. These people gave up their free-tlme. A11 came and worked hard for a success. Tonight is the fulfillment of their dreams as everyone crowds into the au- ditorium and waits for the curtain to go up. The band strikes up the music, the directors await anxiously as the audi- ence applauds and Milford once again presents a Wonderful Time . ' I 3 ighree rules for careful driving. The! Jiere: 531211;.
