Mr. Cutlip, principal of the high school for 7 years, has been the leader of our fast expanding student body. He can remember when the high school was a fraction of the size it is today. Mrs. Peterson, who was a bookkeeper, stenographer, at a manufacturing company, is now assisting Mr. Cutlip as a secretary in his office. Do you think he's really sick, or is he just playing hooky? asks Mr. Wettig, our attendance official, during a regular morning consultation with Mr. Cutlip concerning absentees.

No generation of young people has been surrounded with so many opportunities as the present one. Pitfalls and :empations, too, have multiplied. Opportunities are for the strong and the ready. Pit- falls and temptations catch the weak, the unprepared, and the vascillaring. Living then in our fast moving society requires us to build competence, to be ready to give, to observe keenly, to choose wisely and to serve willingly. With these qualities you can get to the top. Without them you may only watch others get there. Best Wishes James H. Fley Superintendent Mrs. Violet Snell is secretary to ML Fley and also Clerk- Treasurer for the Board of Education. Once a month, on the last Friday, the faculty especially appreciates Mrs. Snell; it's PAY DAY.

We remember. . . . Mrs. Lucille Bainum as the secretary-treasurer of Milford High School who was responsible for the various activity and class funds. She was constantly assisting the treasurer of each organization con- cerning financial matters. We remember when the Junior High School consisted of one Seventh and one Eighth grade. The enroliment in each was 30 to 55 students. During the school year, 1958-59, there were four sections of each of these grades, each section having from 56 to 40 students. This is just one indication of how our school population is growing. Merrill Judd, Principal
