No generation of young people has been surrounded with so many opportunities as the present one. Pitfalls and :empations, too, have multiplied. Opportunities are for the strong and the ready. Pit- falls and temptations catch the weak, the unprepared, and the vascillaring. Living then in our fast moving society requires us to build competence, to be ready to give, to observe keenly, to choose wisely and to serve willingly. With these qualities you can get to the top. Without them you may only watch others get there. Best Wishes James H. Fley Superintendent Mrs. Violet Snell is secretary to ML Fley and also Clerk- Treasurer for the Board of Education. Once a month, on the last Friday, the faculty especially appreciates Mrs. Snell; it's PAY DAY.

our teachers . . . they laid know- ledge at our feet . . . some of them even tried to pound it into us, . . . maybe that was the best way . . . some of them just gave us the chance to learn . . . they didnlt force it on us . . . we thought they didnlt care, but now we know they did . . . they were only giving us the Chance to be adults . some were very Close to us . . . we could tell them our trOubles . . . and they would listen. they were all different, and yet, we know they all had the same goal in mind . , . and well always be grateful.

Mr. Cutlip, principal of the high school for 7 years, has been the leader of our fast expanding student body. He can remember when the high school was a fraction of the size it is today. Mrs. Peterson, who was a bookkeeper, stenographer, at a manufacturing company, is now assisting Mr. Cutlip as a secretary in his office. Do you think he's really sick, or is he just playing hooky? asks Mr. Wettig, our attendance official, during a regular morning consultation with Mr. Cutlip concerning absentees.
