Our minds were ready for learning, and our faculty helped to fill them with knowledge. Our faculty m who are they? They comprise that select group of people with enduring patience, unlimited ability in theithfield, and the willingness to educate us e the adults of tomorrow. They are the ones Who have opened the doors to our future, so that we may pass through them with the great- est of confidence. They are our administrators, our teachers, our helpers, It is these people who put the spark of knowledge in out minds. We must keep that Spark glowing. We must kindle it into a flame. We must do this, so that we can face the world on two strong feet. Out faculty does not serve its only purpose in the class- room. They also are advisers and directors of other extra- curricular activities. They strive to give us a balanced pro- gram, and a school year that is interesting. Out faculty also is composed of those people who make our school adaptable to our needs e the custodians, the cooks, the bus drivers, and the patrolman. All of these people make up an absolute necessity of the school; Year after year they have watched the doors Close e only to be reopened by eager students. Yes, our faculty has been very much a part of this school year. Faculty Mrst Bafnum and Mrs Snell are the unsung heroines 0f the offices. These two keep the offices running smoothly and efficiently. To them our thanks from the students and the faculty are due. The superintendent arrives at policies and procedures best calculated to ad- vance the educational interests of the en. tire community. In simple terms, this means that Mr. Fley must co-ordinate the community, teachers. and pupils into a smooth functioning unit The proofs of his achievements lay in his record, One has only to meet and talk with our informed, happy towns- folk, our Successful graduates, Our con- tented faculty, or to read the scholastic records of the student body to see that Mr. Fley is simply THE MOST'Cl Mr. Newman prepares the youngsters for high school. He directs their every step so that by the time they reach the freshman year, they will be able to make mature decisions Not only does he guide elementary Students, but he also tries to make things easier for his teachers, No problem is too large or too small to receive his ut- most attention. In Mr. Cutlip's case, the PAL in princi- pal is certainly appropriate. He is a combination of friend and father to stu- dents and teachers alike, He can always be found Willing to help at a dance, pep rally, classroom, or trip, To him we owe Our deepest appre- ciation for a job well done ! l4 The townsfolk and the students owe much to our fine school board Left to Right: Mr. Rosenzweig, Mr. Camthers, Mr. Flay, Superintendmt: Mrs. Snell, Clerk; Mr. Mullet, Preyidem; Mr. Kemp, and ML Kietzman. Our boys had been working every evening on the field of Riverside Park. Mt. Moset was trying to get the boys into condition for their first season in the Eastern Hills League. Later in the school year, one might find either Miss Jacobs or Mr. MCDCrmOtt with their students in the audi- torium. Knowing that practice makes perfect, these stu- dents practice during their spare time. When Spring arrives, changes will take place in out athletic program Baseball will open under the watchful eye of Mt. Wettig. Golf, tennis, and track will aleo begin at this time. Besides organized sports, Milford has an intramural program Ping-pong, basketball, and volleyball are available for all students. In the past school year, we of Milford High School have opened many doors-not just doors of physical appearance only, but also doors of learning, of fun, of friendship, of sports- manship, and of personal experiences known only to the individual. Each door which we have passed through was different from others. Some were harder to open than others. Only through initiative and strong will power were we able to open these doors. Our school year has been one of the most memorable at Milford. Upon entering the classrooms, we were greeted by new faces of students and teachers. These new people joined with those who were already a part of MHAS. to help make the memories which we ate reminiscing now. Can we ever forget those five junior boys who decided to become cheerleaders? Can we ever forget when Dick Snell knocked Mary Ann Garner's crown off with a kiss? Can we ever forget when Billy Catt made the basket that won out reserve team the league championship? Can we ever forget when Broadway came to Milford in the form of the junior and senior class plays? Can we ever forget the exciting and llnoisyl' Senior - All-Star Game? These are but a few of the wonderful memories which we have experienced. They all had a part in the past school yeatea year which can never be duplicated. Fot life is an evet-changing cycle in which new things are created and new experiences are enjoyed. As one class leaves these doors behind them, so another will open them to become a part of M.H.S. The graduating class will find new doors to open-doots involving careers, families, and future security. The new freshman class will also find doors to openedoots that will prepare them for their life ahead. We can be proud of our school. Within its walls the echoes of former classes and fond memories resound. They are locked there forever. Our school year is now a part of that, too. L 515313.31. ' ..
