As you, the class of 1944-, pass through the school portals for the last time, you enter upon the threshold of a new cycle of your life, a life that is becoming increas- ingly complex and everchanging, a life that will challenge all your energies for every forward stroke you take. Our hope is that you will make the fullest use of the ideals, friendships, loyalties, and knowledge your school has endeavored to supply you, for the purpose of the attainment in life of that which you most desire. As our nation is going through a most critical period, most of the boys of your class and a number of the girls will enter directly into the service of our country. We know that the ensuing months will be trying ones for you and your parents, but we know that you are endowed with the same spirit and ideals which have made our nation great and that you will do your part in bringing a victorious and lasting peace.
