History 'ix S We, the Sen1or Class of n1neteen hundred f1fty four, have f1nal1y reached the top of the ladder and we hope that it means a gateway to success 1n the years to come We entered h1gh school with eighteen students 1n our class with Mr Barney as our adv1sor Our officers were Presldent, Marlan Eggleston, V1ce Presldent, D1ck Jewell, Secretary, Neal W1lsey, Treasurer, Terry Naylor We had two mem bers of our class on the football team, four members on the basketball team and four members on the baseball team There were seven members of the class 1n chorus and three members 1n band Our representat1ves to the student counc1l were D1ck Jewell and Eleanor Shenot Fun was engoyed by all the members of the class who wene present at the 1n1t1at1on eXeTC1S6S At the beglnning of our sophomore year we had seventeen students We lost H1ldred LeBreton and Terry Naylor, but we ga1ned Walter Gr1ll Our off1cers were, Presldent, Kenneth Strong, V1ce presldent, Eleanor M1l1er, Secretary, Cl1fford Edson, Treasurer, Janlce Salisbury We had four members of our class on the football team, f1ve members on the basketball team and f1V6 members on the baseball team There were s1x members in chorus and s1x members in band Our representatives to the student COUnC11 were Neal Wllsey and Marlan Eggleston In our Juhl0P year we started off w1th sixteen students We lost Shirley Lockwood, Walt Grill, Eleanor Shenot, and we ga1ned Cec1l Reynolds and Tom Carroll Our class officers were President, Marian Eggleston, Vice Pres1dent, D1Ck Jewell, Secretary, Fleanor M1l1er, and Treasurer, Janlce Sal1sbury W had two members on the football team, four members on the basketball team and four members on the baseball team There were seven members of our class 1n chorus and five members 1n band Our representatives to the student counc1l were Marlan Eggleston and D1Ck Jewell We presented a Prom along w1th the Senlors Other dCt1Vit1eS dur1ng the JUUIOP year were hdyF1dCS and bake sales In our senlor year we started off w1th seventeen students We lost C8011 Reynolds, Fugene Clough and Nancy Borchert We gained Walt Eldred, Valeda Halstead, Helena Rasmussen and Don Wh1tney Offlcers were Pres1dent, D1ck Jewell, V1ce Pres1dent, Don Wh1tney, Secretary, Eleanor Mlller, and Treasurer, four members on the basketball team There are eight members 1n chorus and five members 1n band Our representat1ves to the student council were Neal W1lsey CPres1dentJ and Janice Sal1sbury The h1ghl1ghts of the year were turned on the Sen1or Play which added two hundred and forty dollars to our treasury We set a quota of six hundred dollars on the sale of magaZ1n9S and we met the quota Dther act1v1t1es dur1ng the school year 53 54 were se1l1ng of refreshments at games, sale of taify, ChF1StmaS cards sell1ng, bake sales and suppers We, the Sen1or Class of 1953 54 W1Sh all the undergraduates ot M H S success 1n the future f 5' UN' 1 N 'mx I Q 6 x THIS PAGE SPONSORED PY PATSY ANN SHOP AND BEACH'S GARAGE 13 xt I 54 'Q.,l ' .
