Senior Prom This year ' s Senior Prom was the dance in the lives of the girls in the graduating class that they will remember as THE dance during their high school years. The Grade Twelve Social Committee ably planned the affair which took place on Friday, May 13 in the Skyview Ballroom of the Marlborough Hotel. At 6:30 p. m. the couples began to arrive at the eighth floor lobby. All the girls looked beautiful in floor length gowns in every colour of the rainbow. Most ensembles were rounded off with matching satin shoes, white evening bags and elbow length gloves, and topped with an elaborate hairdo. Each dress was enhanced with a colourful corsage. The gentlemen wore dark suits ornamented with a boutonniere. After each lady and her escort passed through the receiving line and signed the guest book, the members of the head table entered and the chicken dinner was served. President Terry Edgeworth proposed a toast to the Queen and soon the speeches began. Mr. P. Best proposed the toast to the graduates and Lome Kotyluk responded in his toast to the faculty. Mrs. N. Reese replied with a speech which had an unusual chemical twist that added a humorous ending to the speeches. The more courageous grade twelve classes then provided entertain¬ ment by performing an original song, skit, or poem. The teachers did likewise. These renditions were enjoyed by all. Mr. Harrison ' s band then took over. Long dresses did not prevent the girls from doing a spirited polka or frug. One o ' clock came all too soon. The Senior Prom will be remembered by all who attended as the perfect ending to three years at Miles Mac. 123
