bPk-TvGM Wflp, vv ' W V ' iVu s »: w?g r m Jm A’ ; rr PRINCIPAL ' S MESSAGE WKr AzffiW June 4th 1963 To promote education it is a common W r ., practice to advise young people that one day teVjiv;vT.v S i n school is worth a certain number of dollars, v ' 5 ■£-• ■ -vj ;.v- ■ A ' » V r or that a good position may be obtained in business or that one ' s social status is enhanced by education. These incentives are sometimes successful, but a person is not truly educated who is motivated in his or her education by one or more of these objectives. The incentives which will make a person truly educated are - a thirst for knowledge, and a striving to understand the world and the people on it. This can be done by the study of works of great writers, scientists, mathematicians, historians, psychologists and linguists. This striving to understand as much as possible is not confined to one course of study. It applies to academic subjects, and to subjects re¬ quiring special skills. The study of Commercial or Industrial areas, along with the Academic, will be a rewarding pleasure. The greatest rewards for furthering one ' s education are the feeling of understanding, the feeling of being useful to others and, what every human being craves, the feeling of being needed because of one ' s knowl¬ edge and skill. These are the incentives, the inner drives, which will motivate to true education. J. E. Scarrow B. A. , B. Ed Principal
