PRESIDENT: DON HATCH VICE-PRESIDENT: ED SMITH TEACHER-SPONSOR: MR. JOYCE The club met every activity period at the beginning of the year, but as popularity grew, many of the members began to stay for lunch in order to practise during the noon hour. These twelve or so members improved and put on a fine display for our school tea. Kaleidoscope. Two weeks after Kaleidoscope, the group again performed before an appreciative audience, this time at the Grad. Basketball Game, In April, a few girls began tumbling in the boys ' group, and be¬ fore long, the girls formed their own club, also under the direction of Mr. Joyce. Approximately twenty enthusiasts showed up for the prac¬ tises, and, like the Boys ' Club, they were successful and everyone seemed to enjoy herself. Both the Boys ' Club and the Girls ' Tumbling Club would like to extend thanks to our supervisor and instructor, Mr. Joyce, for all the time and patience he put into making the year 61-62 a profitable one for us. At the year ' s commencement, the Miles Mac Track Club virtually pleaded for members and throughout the winter, the trend of famine con¬ tinued. As field day rolled around, the membership increased as many people came to whip themselves into competitive shape for the big day. May 14. From this point on, fame came to Miles Mac, for the boys and girls of the collegiate stood out in the suburban field day. The collegiate had sixteen participants in the Provincial Track Meet on Saturday, June 2nd.

SPORTS COUNCIL FIRST ROW: Elaine Lowry, Vicki Scrutton, Joan Wilczynski, Judy Hales, Mavis Dixon, Shirley Dudeck, SECOND ROW: Bob Jackson, Tom Lobay, Stan Moroz, Ted Chmielowiec, Conrad Gislason, Rich Titarniuk, Edward Smith, Dave Confrey. MISSING: Lynda Foster, Les Martinson. CHEERLEADERS This year the cheerleaders received new yellow, crew-necked sweaters, thanks to the student council. We hope our cheerleading improved with the addition. Thanks to Miss Drewerys, we also had a mascot, Jasper, a grey donkey. Unfortunately, we lost his tail half-way through the basketball season. For the remainder of the year poor Jasper was a tailless donkey. This year we cheered for the Girls ' Varsity Basketball team also. We hope that this will con¬ tinue in the future. Leona Solomon, Pat Knoll, Helen Harper, Diane Blakeley, Katina Posaluko, Gayle Riddell, Diana Farbiak. CENTRE: Beverly Best.
