IfPUlWtlU PRINC IPAL’S MESSAGE One of the most serious problems in high school to-day is the student ' s choice of a course in high school and a career to follow. Most students who reach Grade IX nowa¬ days, go on to high school. This trend is much more common now than it was a number of years ago when more jobs were available. The result is that now we have a greater number of pupils with a greater variety of abilities and in¬ terests. When we had a few pupils going on to high school, most of them were interested only in University. Now our pupils are interested in many careers. It is now necessary that a very careful choice of his or her course and career. This choice should be prompted by an honest es¬ timation of the student ' s ability. The person concerned should not be unduly modest, but on the other hand should not indulge in wishful thinking. A discussion with Teachers, Principals and Guidance Counsellors will help a student arrive at a fairly precise evaluation of their potentiali¬ ties. It is most important that with all the professions, trades, technical work, skilled and semi-skilled work available now that as wise a choice as possible be made. My warmest greetings go to all our Yearbook readers and my best wishes to those who are leaving our school this year. J. E. Scarrow, Principal.
