The executive elected wt re: Elizabeth Johnston, President; Grace McNeill, Vice-Pres - dent; Ken Sirkis, Se - ere tar y-Treasurer. The activities c the year were high¬ lighted by several v - iting speakers: Mr. Bossenmai r, the Director of the Game Branch, Depai - ment of Mines and Natural Resources, spoke about Wildlife in northern Canada. Mr. Marion Aftanus, a student from the Departmen of Psychology, Univer ty of Manitoba, spoke about the isolation e - periments. Three Flight Li u- tenants from the R. C. A. F. station, Winnipeg spoke abou rocketry. The club set up he following equipment n the two laboratories for Kaleidoscope: telegraph system, an oscil loscope, Hilsch tube, blood typing demonstra tions, ammonia fountain and hydrogen diffusio 1 apparatus. The members of the Science Club partici pated in three science fairs. These were: 1st - Physics-a model rocket entered by Edwin Kroeger and Jim Stadnik. 1st - General Science-a Tic-tac-Toe Corr putor, entered by Bryan Thompson and Larry Borysyk. 1st - Biology-growth and extraction of pet i- cillin entered by Elizabeth Johnston. Two of these projects were entered in the Rotary Manitoba Provincials at Polo Park. These prizes were awarded: 1st - Biology-Elizabeth Johnston 3rd - General Science - Bryan Thompson ■ and Larry Borysyk. Elizabeth was one of the four exhibitions chosen to represent Manitoba at the first Canada Wide Science Fair in Ottawa. Wr She won third prize in the Girls ' Physical Science.

GLEE CLUB This year of 61-62 has been a very successful one for the Miles Macdonell Glee Club, under the excellent direction of Miss Drewrys. Among its accom¬ plishments were: the Remembrance Day Service; a carolling session followed by a gath¬ ering at which Mr. Weiler, director of last year ' s Glee Club was present; the Kaleidoscope where it sang a medley of tunes from The King and I; and the Closing Exercises at King Memorial Church. The Glee Club also entered a choir in the Festival and won third place. All in all the Glee Club members showed fine singing ability and good adherence to practise through¬ out the year. CAMERA CLUB The Camera Club had a member¬ ship of twenty this year. Mr. Joyce, the sponsor, taught the members how to print, enlarge, and develop pic¬ tures. Classes in oil colouring and picture tinting were also held. The Camera Club was given two rooms for the Ka¬ leidoscope. In one room, each mem¬ ber displayed sev¬ eral of his pictures. An oil coloured por¬ trait of each person was mounted for display. A pro¬ jection room was set up in which were displayed 35 mm. slides and 8 mm. movies. The club has purchased an enlarger and various dark room equipment, need more room next year as our quarters in the physics lab. supply room cramped.
