THE SENIOR CLASS COLOR: Silver and Lavender THE SENIOR CLASS FLOWER Mr. Johnston Orchid Mr. DeSchriver CLASS HISTORY One bright and sunny day in September of 1944, twenty of us started our first day in school. We were: Bill Chamberlain, Duane Durkop, Karen Feddersen, Theona Fisher, Mary Frank, Leo Hathaway, Kenneth Holdgrafer, Robert Horst, Eugene Knuth, Sharon Kay Kruse, Daniel Kunau, Dorothea Kyarsgaard, George Kyarsgaard, Helen Oberman, Carol Schultz, Darrell Ray Tracy, Ronnie Mesch, Janice Estabrook, Loras Lee Killburg, and Donald Durkee. Our teacher was Dorothy Bachman. The next year brought a new teacher, Ruth Heinrich and five new pupils, who were: Virgil Koch, Raymond Manning, Judy McVey, Patricia De Wer rdit, and Loretta Schroeder. During the third year, Loras Lee Killburg, and Donald Durkee transferred. There were no new pupils, Marlys Stahnke was our fourth grade teacher. Charles Culver, Henry Gray, Carol Greve, Marie Harmon, James House, Martha Hughes, Gladys Kaczinski, Lou Ann Lehmkuhl, James Taplin, and Jack Tietjens, added to our class enrollment, and Billy Chamberlain, Karen Feddersen, Leo Hathaway, Daniel Kunau, and Janice Estabrook transferred. Our sixth grade teacher was Miss Dorothy Rehr. James Dynes and Darlene Daniels added to our class and Charles Culver, James House, George Kyarsgaard dropped by transfer. Ronnie Thompson, and Linda Schmidt were our new members in seventh grade, and Miss Donna Mc Cutcheon was our teacher. During our eighth year the new students were: Elmer Jackson, Sharon Meyer, Charles Garien, and Paul Carstensen. Harry Morris was our class sponsor during our Freshman year. The new additions to our class were: J eloyce Brunning, Rita Daniels, Deanna Heath, Karen Naeve, Ted Petersen, Roberta Petersen, Werner Paulson, Rita Schlecht, Carole Smith, Karen Teeple, Donna Sterbenz, and Janis Paulson. Martha Hughes dropped. Our Sophomore sponsors were Robert Liike and Robert Rasmussen, During the year Janis Paulson transferred and Ruby Ingwersen added to our class. Miss Beeler and Mr. Liike were our Junior sponsors. We lost Donna Sterbenz and Darlene Daniels. The only new student was Darlene Hammond. Now as a graduating class there are twenty-eight of us, Ronnie Thompson being the only member who did not return in the fall. As you have read, the only students who have gone all twelve years at Miles Consolidated School are: Theona Fischer, Mary Frank, Kenneth Holdgrafer, Robert Horst, Sharon Kruse, and Carol Schultz.
