- U.I.L. - U.I.L. Promotes Academic Excellence MHS students competed in many UIL fUniversity Interscholastic Leaguej literary and speaking events this year. These events included Ready Writing, Number Sense, Typewriting, Poetry, Prose Interpretation, Iournalism, Spelling, Debate, Persuasive Speaking, Informative Speaking, Oral Reading, and Science. UIL students prepared for the District contests by competing in non-district meets held at Early, Brownwood, Big Lake, and Angelo State. Miles was well-represented at each of these meets as the students gained valuable knowledge and experience in their respective events.
