National Honor Society lnitiates New Members Back Row-Sponsor, Mrs. Lynn Granzin, Alan West, Pam Roberts, Chuck Wilson, Sophomores. Middle Row- Ianice Shiller, Greg Schwertner, Paula Hohensee, joseph Kalina, Dee Ann Coppinger, Vivian Ehrig, Iuniors. Front Row - Mike West, Sherry Kearns, Kay Cmerek, Barnice Fischer, Curtis Pelzel, Seniors. Charter members performed the ceremony. New members were initiated. To be considered for membership in the National Honor Society, a student must have a 90 average in all high school courses. The eligible students are rated by the high school faculty on character Qhonesty, reliability, industry, cooperation, morality, and emotional stabilityj, service Cboth school and communityl, and leadership finitiative, good influence, and concern for othersj. Each teacher rates only those students he feels qualified to rate. About 15-20 percent of the Senior Class, 10-15 percent of the Junior Class, and 5-10 percent of the Sophomore Class are admitted to membership. Sophomores and Iuniors who were not admitted to membership this year may be considered for membership next year.
